Great location- just on the far end of the historic / river walk area of Wilmington. Payton at the front desk was wonderfully helpful! Honestly , everyone we interacted with at the front desk was great! The room was clean and the View!! Man, river view room for the win!! The rainfall shower was a bit challenging to keep the water in the shower- but they gave us a third towel, we used it for the floor and it was fine.
Disclaimer: skip breakfast. The coffee in the breakfast room was un-drinkable - a sip made our drive home … rough.
The sausage links were either hours old or not of a substance I would recognize as meat. The OJ was ok. The cranberry was out. Honestly, our review would’ve been better if we hadn’t gone to breakfast at all. Easier to avoid and hit up a local coffee shop- that’s our plan for next time!

The staff here are so helpful and kind. Peyton, Lois and Blake all made the stay so easy and seamless. The room has some wear, but clean and comfortable. I absolutely will stay again. The breakfast the 2 mornings we had was truly good, bacon was crisp, and the breakfast were soo good.
Sunday arrival, 2 night stay
I really struggled to give this place a second star. It's terrible.
A few points in no particular order:
-parking is $15 per night. Limit 1 vehicle per room.
-elevator is not air conditioned. You literally feel like you're being suffocated. Heaven forbid someone gets stuck.
-The AC died in my room and we had to move mid-stay. This was a major inconvenience as we had to pack up and unpack again.
-the corridors are outdoors and absolutely filthy.
-If someone has a yappy dog, you're gonna know it. No matter what floor you're on because of the echo.
-Rooms are small. The square footage advertised is grossly overestimated.
-No idea who is running this place, but they should re-evaluate the overall cleanliness.
-stray cats being fed right outside the front door, so there's that.
-views of the river are awesome! The riverwalk park provided a relaxing 3 mile stroll along the river. LOVED!
-breakfast was good. Coffee was strong (which was good)
Won't book again. Ever.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend while exploring Wilmington. The main reason we chose this hotel was because the rooms have a great view of the Cape Fear River, and it did not disappoint! We adored the view day and night and watched the boats go by. Our king room was clean & spacious, the bed was very comfy with great fluffy pillows, and room was equipped for USB & C plugs. Loved the rainfall shower head. Large TV with dozens of channels too. I want to give special Kudos to Renee, the breakfast lady, who was very helpful, friendly, and accomodating! She also keeps the food stocked and area clean. The front desk staff were all very nice & welcoming. We had a room on the end. The hotel was very quiet, even over the holiday. The only thing we heard was the band playing on the rooftop bar of Embassy suites next door, but we enjoyed it and thier repertoire! They stop at 10pm so definitely no bother to us. The hotel site says the king rooms include a microwave but ours did not. We would have liked to reheat our coffee. But there was a coffeemaker and fridge. I'm still going to give 5 stars.
