  I chose this location because it was close to an overnight project and it had River in the name... The gentle rolling rapids are visible from an entire side of the property including a grand central view from the patio. The soothing sounds of the river encourage you to sit and be still. After working in 18-hour day I checked in at 8:00 a.m. with only the possibility of a few hours of sleep. But sing the river before I laid down and once I got up was the relaxation and restoration that I needed. Thank you to the overnight person for ensuring that my booking did not get canceled due to late arrival. Additionally, thank you to the morning team that received me at checking in. They were genuinely kind and helpful.

  I can’t say enough about this hotel, it’s the only place I stay when I come to the area. It’s a nice clean hotel with all the amenities you could want.

  After reading through recent reviews and your response I wish to thank you...it seems your hotel may not be what it was in the past. I enjoy mold-free and bug free rooms in addition to hospitality. I have stayed here a couple of times over the years and fell in love with it! My husband and I have planned to stay here for our 40th wedding anniversary (planning for the past year). Imagine my surprise when I call to reserve 2 months in advance and I am told I cannot reserve a first floor room riverside-only request it. I have begged and pleaded for an exception (it is our 40th anniversary so this is a very special trip)! I have even offered to prepay for the room...Josh, the manager, has told me no. I have made the reservation for a balcony room but will be looking to go somewhere else now...likely will not keep the reservation. I won't drive all the way from Dallas, Texas, to Dillsboro, NC, on the chance I might get a 1st floor room or I might not. After a good cry, all I can say is what a shame for them, Best Western and that area of North Carolina. Although I know they will survive without my business I will no longer recommend them. This trip included 6 nights, all in Best Western Hotels. I have spent most of travelling days over the last two decades staying at Best Westerns as a lotalty member. Will likely will not stay at another Best Western again.

  Five Stars for the awesome Free breakfast and the service that came with it. Debbie was the breakfast bar attendant. She was very friendly and is the sole reason for the five star review. I don't like giving hotels 5 stars because there is always something dirty. Our room was nothing special. But being able to dine for free on the river every morning outweighs any negative aspects of this hotel. Enjoy.

  First night of our 7 night stay, our room had a live baby cockroach and a urine stain on our bed, unfortunately. Also, for some reason, some of the light switches in the room don’t work. When I told “Josh” the general manager about it, he questioned if it was actually urine and not just a regular stain for some reason, even though I told him it smelled like it and even had photos of both the urine and roach. Staff was only able to move us to a different standard room which smelled like a mildew wet carpet smell, and the drawers wouldn’t close on the dresser for some reason they just kept rolling back out in our new room. It kind of felt like “Josh” general manager “didn’t really try to help us out. Unfortunately, we booked with a 3rd party, but even then, I felt like they could have done something to make the experience better. Susan, the employee, and the older women working at the breakfast bar were really sweet though, and the same for the cleaning staff. Food was solid; they did have protein options each day like sausage links and sausage patties or bacon! Pancake maker was the bomb though! Lastly, they didn’t have enough parking spots so some of us had to park on the side of a curb. But the overall outside look of the hotel was clean and nice, especially the outside scenery of the river! Unfortunately, we just had a bad experience with the rooms!
