Extremely old Best Western. The hallway carpet is disgusting. Heavy stains, smells, and torn in spots. The room is not much better. This room had a jet tub. I wouldn't wash my dog in it. Groose!! The toilet is so close to the tub you can't even set on it. Strong smell of Mary Jane daily. The A/C is so so. Barley gets below 72 degrees. The rooms have laminate tile in them. Don't think they even mop them. Nasty dirty scum on them. I went and purchased a mop to clean before I stayed. Hair left in the shower from prior guest. Gross gross gross. I decided to try BW again after a few years of not staying with them. This location is lacking. BW used to be one of the nicer hotels to stay at, but they are getting old.
Terrible service and unprofessional staff. We were rushed out of our room at 10:50 a.m. by staff pretending to be 'room service.' During the scramble to leave, I left behind an expensive earbud. When I called the front desk to ask for help, the agent was dismissive, refused to check with the cleaning staff, and hung up on me mid-conversation. It’s clear that guest satisfaction is not a priority here. Save yourself the headache and stay elsewhere.
Edit- This is a way to reply to a real review from a paying client? "Chris - might want to check with the "sketchy strip club" for your earbud."
My wife and I came here for the World Cup game, and the fact that there were police officers outside a sketchy strip club nearby was a legitimate concern we noted during our stay. For management to respond by childishly telling me to 'check the strip club for your earbud' is incredibly unprofessional. They are trying to deflect a real concern with an insult. It's clear this establishment lacks accountability, internal controls, and basic service etiquette.
Not hard to look for a earbud left in the room.
Looked at further reviews and it seems that is a trend of your egotistical responses. Great job.

I was afraid due to bad reviews, but my experience was different. Clean rooms, good smell. They have water, coffee and tea available at the lobby. Good parking lot and free.

A nivel positivo, destaco la amabilidad de las personas que atienden en la recepción y sobre todo se las señoras que atienden durante el desayuno.
Las camas son confortables.
Aspectos negativos hay varios pero creo que el principal es lo extremadamente desagradable el olor permanente a marihuana. Debería estar expresamente prohibido y además penalizado que los huéspedes o empleados fumen en el hotel y en las habitaciones. Y peor cuando fuman marihuana. Es muy desagradable y es un irrespetuoso total con las personas no fumadores y sobre todo con los niños que se hospedan en el hotel. Muy mala experiencia porque todo el tiempo hay olor a marihuana por los pasillos, en los ascensores y ese olor entra a la habitación.
Otro aspecto negativo es el descuido en la renovación de los espacios. Ya hay paredes con moho. Con óxido, pisos y tapetes muy viejos y desagradables al igual que las cortinas muy sucias y en muy mal estado. Los baños no son bien aseados y necesitan remodelación urgente.

Dear Hotel Manager,
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at Best Western Plus Hollywood/Aventura. Unfortunately, both the condition of my room and the customer service I initially received fell far below the standards I expected from your hotel.
After a long day, the last thing I expected was to arrive at my room and have to deal with unclean sheets and an unsanitary environment. Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed that the bed had dirty sheets, making it appear that the room had not been properly cleaned before my arrival. The bathroom toilet continuously flushed on its own throughout my stay, creating constant noise and indicating a maintenance issue that should have been repaired before the room was assigned. In addition, there was a strong unpleasant odor throughout the room, making it uncomfortable to stay there.
Concerned about these issues, I went downstairs to speak with Diego at the front desk. I explained the condition of the room and requested another room. Diego informed me that there were no other rooms available. Unfortunately, the interaction was handled in a manner that made me feel as though my only options were to "take it or leave it." As a paying guest, I expected my concerns to be treated with professionalism, empathy, and a genuine effort to resolve the situation.
It should also be noted that Iris later came to my room and handled the situation professionally. She was very apologetic about what had happened and immediately took photographs of the dirty sheets to document the condition of the room. She then replaced the dirty sheets with clean ones. I sincerely appreciate Iris' professionalism, compassion, and prompt response. Her actions helped address part of the issue and reflected the level of customer service I expected from the beginning.
Despite Iris' efforts, the overall experience—including the unclean room conditions, the continuously flushing toilet, the unpleasant odors, and my initial interaction at the front desk—significantly affected my stay.
I respectfully request that this matter be investigated, including the housekeeping and maintenance issues as well as the customer service concerns. I also request appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and disappointment I experienced, whether in the form of a refund, partial refund, or another reasonable gesture of goodwill.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and to learning what steps will be taken to address these concerns.
