I recently stayed at this hotel in April and May 2026. In my opinion this hotel offers the greatest value for the money and exceeded all my expectations. The oceanfront room I stayed in was clean, good bed, gorgeous view of ocean and had all the conveniences of home. Staff was incredible, especially Vivianna who went the extra mile to make my stay the best experience. She got me early check in on both arrivals as well as personally bringing me a table and chairs to my room when I mentioned a had no table in kitchenette. The woman is a true compliment to Best Westen as well as all the staff I met. The hotel grounds, lobby and pool are well maintained and have lush tropical plants, flowers and vegetation growing everywhere. Great location as well.
This is my 2nd stay and his 5/6th stay here and the hotel is definitely different after the hurricane a few years ago! Which is okay!
The water pressure in the shower is very low, which makes showering hard! (Atleast in rooms on the 4th floor)!
The Restaurant hasn't been open since Saturday the 13th for Lunch or Dinner so we haven't been able to order food or drinks! The lady at the desk told us it's only Open for Lunch/Dinner on Friday and Saturdays... Breakfast is open 7-11 everyday tho.. (it's advertised to be open 7am-10pm everyday online)
Sadly the Tiki Hut got removed (I'm presuming for the Hurricane)!
There hasn't been any music by the pool either like the last time we stayed heređź’”
I'm giving a 3 star because a lot has changed here that really disappointed us! The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly so it isn't their faults by any means... the views are gorgeous still!

Been staying here on and off for years went to book our yearly summer vacation trip and upon reading reviews of the hotel changing ownership I experienced the worst customer service over the phone that I canceled my reservation asap this is NOT the standard of best western and I hope they remove there name soon no longer offering the restaurant
Paid parking now and deposit has gone up front desk staff had a very bad attuide and once I tryed to request a room like always was told the manger was “to busy” I’ve done this for years and never needed a manger just a note made on the account if the room is avail we get that one if not they offer another booked another local hotel on the beach and they will be getting my money and customer service is already 100 times better
3rd world vibes. We have stayed here once before and the hotel was under renovation and decided to give it another chance, bad idea. Check-in was fine, very outdated system with signatures required on 3 pages of documents. The lobby and restaurant area are not air conditioned, even late at night they are 90 degrees. Only one of the 2 elevators work, just like last time which makes me think the second does not work in general. Also when we went to leave in the morning the second elevator was out of service with only 1 hot stairwell left for getting off of the top floor. The phone in the room just didn't work, tried reconnecting and nothing. The bathroom was not cleaned, a large clump of hair in the sink, sand all over the counters, an almost empty bathroom tissue room, the tolet sear was bot connected and there was dirt and hair all over and when we brought this up to the front desk we were offered only 1 option of changing rooms as they were full however it was a cheaper queen bed room with zero mention if a price reduction. So they were full with zero elevators working on a weekend. The floor of the room had not been cleaned or swept with like debris and hair all over. The pool is dark due to lack of proper cleaning. The grounds are tidy but is disrepair. The staff was not helpful with any problems and just kept saying "the manager is not here yet and will have to call you to discuss the problems". Its been 2 days of calling back and surprisingly the manag e has still not come in or at the very least reached out to discuss the issues so dont expect any resolution if you have problems here. In short I would say stay anywhere else as this place seems to be doing the bare minimum to stay open.

I am contacting corporate support to report a severe service failure at the Aku Tiki Inn property, which forced my family to check out within two hours of arrival on [Date].
As loyal consumers, we expect a baseline of cleanliness and functionality that this property failed to meet. The pool facility was poorly maintained, exhibiting high turbidity and heavy debris. More critically, the hot water infrastructure in our room was non-functional; the maximum temperature achieved after a 10-minute flush was entirely inadequate for guest use, leaving our three children in distress.
Our primary grievance, however, lies with the management's conflict-resolution protocol. Instead of validating our experience or dispatching maintenance, the front desk took a defensive posture, invalidating our claims because other guests had not yet complained. This lack of empathy was highlighted further when a repeat guest corroborated our feelings, noting a steep decline in the hotel's overall standards.
Ultimately, the on-site management team failed to exhibit a customer-centric approach, refusing to initiate a refund and passing the administrative burden onto our booking platform.
We request that corporate intervenes to facilitate our full refund and reviews the hospitality standards at this specific location.
Regards,
