My one-star rating is based on my direct experience with FamilySearch’s advertising and lead-capture process. I have received an excessive number of their sponsored posts across social media. On the ads I encountered, comments were disabled, removing any meaningful opportunity for public questions or feedback. More concerning, when the lead form asked whether I wanted to continue, I selected “No,” yet the process continued instead of respecting my response.
That combination felt intrusive and frustrating. Organizations collecting personal information should make consent clear, honor a user’s decision immediately, and provide a straightforward way to decline further engagement. I hope FamilySearch reviews its advertising frequency, allows reasonable public feedback, and fixes its lead funnel so that selecting “No” actually means no.
