  8/2/26. Andersen's Pea Soup Best Western Hotel Choose this hotel because of it's ⭐️ rating and good reviews. What a misrepresentation of this hotel. First time, last time and a warning to future travelers. First the good. Beds firm, pool wet, breakfast good. Now the bad. Booked and prepaid over the phone, not online. Arrived to find the reservation made, but the credit card used was denied. And it wasn't my credit card number. Had to pay for room with my credit card. Now, I have to dispute the first charge...great! The reservation did not include the pet room designation. Since I had arrived early, they were able to accommodate the pet request. Opened the door to a distinct, but not recognizable odor. A unvacuumed floor, food scraps and popcorn kernels left about. I found a random cabinet pull on the bathroom counter, that had been wiped, but not really cleaned. The carpet was HEAVILY stained, from the first edge by the front door to the sliding glass door on the other side of the room. There must have been at least six stains in various shapes and sizes. Called the front desk, they sent someone with a vacuum right away. I cleaned the counter. Went to get ice. It's 104 here today and ALL the ice makers are out of service. Went to the office to ask about ice and turn in random cabinet pull. Ends up the random cabinet pull isn't a cabinet pull after all! It's the shower handle to turn on and off the shower water! I was asked if I could just slip the handle over the open nut and then leave the handle on the bathroom counter to be repaired when we check out. I bet that was the same instructions given to the last room tenants! Overall I would not recommend this hotel. It's very old, needs renovations and a major cleaning. I'd give the hotel a 2⭐️ at best. One for the front desk clerk and one for the gal setting up breakfast!

  First room given had a bunch of dead bugs on the floor and to ere were a lot of bed bugs in the room. Advised staff and was relocated to another room. The second room still had bugs. Went to Home Depot and bought bed bug killer. Door wouldn’t open and maintenance had to come out due to the locking mechanism being stuck even with the key card working.

  This hotel has everything you need for a quick stop driving up or down the 5. We were greeted by friendly staff & quick service. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean (ours had a shower w/no bath, would be worth calling if that posed a problem for you), there's a beautiful grassy area for kids to play and the pool is refreshing! Plus there's a continental breakfast which makes traveling with a family much easier. For the affordable price, this can't be beat!
