  Booked 3 weeks in advance the balcony room, confirm 24 hours before arrival and again 3 hours before arrival. The clerk on the phone confirm that they see our reservation and we should not worry about it. Upon arrival the young lady at the front desk informed us that our balcony room is not available. She was not welcoming, or friendly. A lot of balcony rooms appeared unoccupied and vacant, that made us believe that she just had some personal prejudice towards us. We were really looking forward to enjoy the open air on the balcony but this did not materialized. I guess if you're a Caucasian you are not welcome in Best Western plus in Oakland. Ms. Anhi Penaloza should be recognized, as she masterfuly ruined our stay. Thanks Best Western, for as long as I book hotel rooms I will never book your Brand.

  Schönes sauberes Zimmer mit Bayview und Terasse, welche zum verweilen einläd, um am Abend noch die Stimmung des Sonnenuntergangs einzufangen. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Guter Komfort und Bar (nette Barkeeperin Karen) , schließt leider schon um 22 Uhr, sowie Pool im Nebengebäude. Hotel schön angelegt, modern und ansprechend. Leider ist der Stadtteil, mit überwiegend Industrie, gekippt und bietet ein kriminelles unsicheres Millieu mit schmutzigen Straßen, Obdachlosen und kriminellen Subjekten. Von Polizei nichts zu sehen und Restaurants , sowie Fast Food Ketten sind schon um 21 Uhr geschlossen. Einfach ein trauriges Umfeld. Das Hotel selbst begegnet dem mit einem Sicherheitsdienst, was zur Folge hat, daß man das Parken mit 17 $ pro Nacht begleichen darf. Das inklusive Frühstück ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert und reichhaltig und insgesamt machte uns der Aufenthalt spaß. Es hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis und wir haben uns im Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt. Daher vergeben wir in allen Kategorien 5 Sterne und können es bedingungslos empfehlen. Ist eine echte Alternative zu den recht teuren Hotels in San Franzisco und nur ca 15 - 20 Fahrminuten entfernt.

  We hebben geen oog dicht gedaan. Hotel ligt naast de snelweg. Het lijkt wel of de auto's door onze kamer rijden. We hebben tijdens onze roadtrip nog op plaatsen geslapen waar er veel verkeer was. We hebben nog nooit zo veel geluidsoverlast gehad! Maar dit is echt niet ok!

  My husband and I spent the 4th of July at this hotel. We had a room on the main floor facing the bay across from Alameda with a patio door and patio chairs. Beautiful! We had front row seats to the fireworks. We were even able to catch San Francisco 's fireworks. Breakfast was excellent. They had two types of eggs. Boiled and folded eggs with cheese. Loved it. Very quiet rooms.
