I was very disappointed with my stay. Check-in was supposed to begin at 3:00 PM, but the experience was frustrating from the start. We arrived around noon and were told to come back in an hour. When we returned at 2:45 PM, we were told to wait again. Even after 3:00 PM, our room was still not ready.
To make matters worse, the hotel's Wi-Fi system was having issues, causing check-ins to take nearly 30 minutes per guest. With two people ahead of us, we didn't receive our room until almost 4:00 PM. I had a scheduled function and ended up having to get ready in my car while my husband waited in line. Because of the delay, I was late for my Queen Mary tour.
The staff also told us they would waive the $25 parking fee because of the inconvenience, but that never happened. In addition, I specifically asked to use a different card for payment. Because their system was having issues, they charged the card on file instead, leaving a much larger charge on my debit card than expected. With the $195 room charge plus a $200 deposit, it significantly affected my budget for the rest of my trip. I wish they had used the credit card I provided.
The room itself was nice, but unfortunately the poor check-in process, broken Wi-Fi system, unfulfilled promise regarding parking, and payment issues overshadowed the entire experience. Overall, this was one of the most frustrating hotel stays I've had.
