The “BEST” Best Western we have visited. Our truck broke down on the way to see the redwoods and we stopped in Eureka for repairs. We had to stay the night and found the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn. Stacey and Aaron were so helpful getting us a room last minute and being very understanding of our situation. The property is beautifully maintained; our room was remodeled and had comfortable beds, sheets and pillows, a shower with great pressure, a huge TV and a refrigerator and microwave. The jacuzzi and pool were relaxing and surrounded with lush landscaping and the fitness center was loaded with all we needed for a great workout- free weights, machines and even a massage chair. This property and its exceptional staff turned our “lemon into lemonade”. Thank you BW! ☀️

I was going to give this place a higher rating but I'm tired of being policed by "the management". No you can't charge your EV, no you can't reheat your food. Do yourself a favor and stay at Home2 Suites by Hilton. $300 per night is cheap when hilton offers more at a lower rate.
I complained that their gym equipment is busted (treadmill broken will not work on Incline. Wasn't fixed in 48 hours.)
They will police over fixing actual issues.
Should deserve zero stars but they invested in their spa. Best Western has been my go to haven as I travel across California but from my experience with Eureka, I will reconsider hilton, Hyatt, and holiday inn.

**Very Disappointing Stay – Not as Advertised**
I checked into the Best Western in Eureka and was extremely disappointed with the condition of the property. The room had **flies inside and an unpleasant smell**, which made it uncomfortable from the moment I arrived.
I also want to point out that the **photos online are very misleading**. The actual property looks nothing like the pictures shown when booking. The condition and overall appearance were a huge letdown compared with what I expected based on the website.
I understand that hotels aren’t always perfect, but this experience was far below what I expected from a Best Western. I would recommend that travelers **look at recent guest photos and reviews before booking**, because the online pictures do not accurately represent the property.

Ill start at check in. We made rezzies several months ago. Checked in 12 people in our group. Im sure we overwhelmed Aaron....front desk guy.
Checking in, gave our info, confirmed our rooms are ready. Asked a couple questions... Aaron responded with... I know your excited but hold on... huh? Umm not our first rodeo traveling. We've traveled near and far. I believe the problem was he was overwhelmed. Then he had the gull to say. I need someone over here with you to explain some important information. Seriously did you just insult me? Important information was where bfast was. Very condescending attitude. Not impressed with your customer service Aaron.
Now, let's talk about the rooms. $300 for a room that has no light, bathroom door not closing tight, and furniture looking like its from 1986. If you want a run down room save your $ and get $150 room instead of $300.
If you put a lipstick on a pig, its still a pig.
Totally dissappointed in our experience.
I will give them kudos for pool area and their buffet bfast. If you think that's worth $300 go for it.
