Exactly what we were hoping for. Clean, comfortable rooms, great breakfast, nice pool and jacuzzi. Staff went above and beyond, would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay over the long weekend! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in an excellent downtown location. It was within walking distance of the lake, the water park, restaurants, and coffee shops, which made it very convenient to explore the area.
The room was spotless, the pool was clean and well maintained, and the continental breakfast was excellent. We also appreciated the safe and convenient parking.
The only thing we would have liked was a water kettle in the room for tea or coffee. Other than that, everything was great, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel!

We had a wonderful stay, but what really stood out was the exceptional customer service we received from Ashley, one of the front desk employees.
There was an issue at the pool after someone complained about our kids, and she handled the situation with so much kindness, professionalism, and understanding. She took the time to listen, treated everyone with respect, and made what could have been an uncomfortable situation feel completely manageable.
It’s not often you come across someone who can handle a difficult situation with such grace. She truly made a positive difference in our stay, and we’re very grateful for the way she treated our family. Thank you for going above and beyond!

Room was cozy, beds were comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast was tasty. Parking was tight. Had to park on the street one night but the front desk covered the fee. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is because the laundry room was not cleaned the entire week we were there. That room had left behind belongings, the trash can was full, and dryer lint trap full. Also, the batteries in the paper towel dispenser in the women's bathroom next to the pool died on the second day of my stay and weren't replaced by check out. Overall good and I would stay here again.

**A Masterclass in How to Turn a Loyalty Program Into a Work of Fiction**
As a **Best Western Diamond Rewards member**, I expected my loyalty to mean something. Instead, I left wondering whether the rewards program is simply a creative writing exercise.
Diamond members are advertised as receiving **early check-in and/or late checkout, subject to availability.** My husband requested a late checkout and was told the hotel was **"sold out"** and there were **no rooms available**.
Curious, I checked online and found several rooms available. I then asked the front desk if they had any vacancies and was told they had **seven**.
Seven.
When I asked why my husband had been told there were none, I was informed that **management does not allow late checkouts during the summer**, regardless of room availability. In other words, the property simply chooses not to offer the benefit.
I contacted Best Western Rewards customer service, expecting them to uphold their own program. Instead, they told me that if hotel management decides not to provide late checkout, they can simply declare it **"not available."**
Apparently, in Best Western's world, **"subject to availability" doesn't actually mean rooms are available—it means management feels like it.** So the advertised Diamond benefit is really subject to individual franchise policies, not room availability. If that's the case, Best Western should stop advertising it as an Elite Rewards benefit.
Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn't improve.
The lobby washroom (the only one available while using the breakfast area and pool) had pubic hair on the toilet and a filthy floor.
Breakfast was another disappointment. The eggs were cold and nearly gone. One hot item was completely empty and another was almost empty. When I asked if the eggs would be refilled, I was told, **"There's still quite a bit there."**
Apparently, they're redefining **"quite a bit"** the same way they're redefining **"availability."**
Then I discovered there was **no waffle batter at all**. The front desk told me to speak to the dining room attendant. After I suggested they communicate with their own staff instead, a housekeeper relayed my comments, the dining room attendant marched over to confront me, and I looked up to see the front desk employee and housekeeper laughing together while it happened.
Nothing says "guest service" quite like publicly confronting a guest while staff giggle in the background.
By the end of breakfast I had cold eggs, no waffle, and very little else to eat. Their "complimentary breakfast" is better described as **"arrive early if you want food."**
Ironically, by the end of our stay I realized we were probably lucky not to receive the late checkout. The sooner we left, the better.
I expected Diamond recognition. Instead, I got creative policy interpretation, poor cleanliness, an understocked breakfast, and one of the strangest customer service experiences I've had in years.
I'd encourage Best Western Elite Rewards members to understand that **"subject to availability" may actually mean "subject to management discretion."** That's a very different promise than the one Best Western advertises.
