Where to start. So we have used this hotel in the past and was always great. Right on the beach, beautiful. This time, oh boy. We arrived after 12 1/2 -13 hours in the car, with 2 children. We arrive arrived around 9pm give or take (was a week ago) only 2 find they messed up our reservation. They tried putting us in a room that sleeps 4. We are 3 adults and 2 children. I believe that makes 5. Plus one dog. When making reservation they repeated back 3 adults and 2 children reciting their ages. Yes, all correct. Until we get there. They then proceeded to try and put us in room for 4. I got a little irritated, this is unacceptable. Said they didn't have any more rooms. What? Again unacceptable. I suggested they find a room, as we had reservation in advance. She found one room, but it was an upgraded room and costs $300-$400 more. Unacceptable. I asked what was the discount. She said no discount, better room. I suggested she call a manager. She, Van, who was trying to be accommodating and polite (no complaints with her. And quite patient) then proceeded to call manager Kaylyn Taylor who then proceeded to give Van an ear beating for calling her, refused any discounts for THEIR mistake. At which point I was now in too much pain and too tired to stand and argue. Give us the blessed room! We enter the uncleaned room with no sheets, pillows for pull out bed. Had to go back. We were given 2 FITTED sheets and blanket, no pillows. Went back for pillows for pull out, in fact we are home and still waiting for pillows. The room could have been nice, but floor was ridiculous, every counter/surface was dirty and sticky. There were full pecan halves on the floor. Large ball of HUMAN hair in the bathtub. Toilet was....very dirty. It was like pulling teeth to get towels and washcloths. Sorry but 3 or 4 towels and a few washcloths do not work for 5 people. So everyday, pull more teeth. The last night we was told there were no washcloths. Awesome we get to drive back home all sweaty and dirty, nice. Breakfast wasn't bad, what you would expect and was mostly clean. However if breakfast lasts till 10am why stop replenishing if still 45 minutes till done. Nope, no more waffle mix, nope out of juice, no more yogurt for you. I even heard her tell a very nice elderly gentleman to " go to the lobby for coffee " wait, what? This was our granddaughters first trip to see ocean and beach. I hope they remember the better stuff. I think we will seek other accommodations for future trips, considering family lives 2 blocks from hotel it was convenient. Butit will be worth driving elsewhere. And I didn't even mention the bugs. Sorry Best Western Plus, I think you lost some customers! And other family members that travel to the area as well. Don't know what happened to a really decent place 😕

On arrival the rooms were spacious but unfortunately they were dirty. The bathroom had not been cleaned, and the floors were dirty. We let reception know but they said there were no cleaning staff on site. The receptionist did offer to clean it herself but couldn’t for a while. Instead we were handed the cleaning products and had to clean the bathroom ourselves.
There was also no oven in the kitchen. When we booked our stay an oven was pictured and listed. They since remodeled the kitchens and removed all ovens, without informing us. There were also no utensils, mugs, glasses, plates, bowls, or pans in the kitchen. When we asked at reception they said they had no more available and gave us a few paper cups, plastic bowls, plastic plates and utensils. We were unable to use the kitchen at all during our stay. There was also not enough bedding or towels and we had to ask for more.
Additionally there were multiple roaches in the room. Overall I would not recommend booking this accommodation.
