### Honest & Professional
We stayed at this Best Western for one night on Friday, and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing.
The lobby itself was nothing particularly impressive, but that was certainly not a major concern. After checking in, the front desk employee gave us directions to our room: go to the right, up the steps, turn right, go through the doors, and the room would be down the hall. We followed those directions, but the route took us through a very dark and somewhat unsettling hallway before exiting onto an exterior balcony area where the rooms were located. It was an unusual first impression.
Once we entered the room, we were less than impressed, but since we were only staying one night, we decided to make the best of it. Unfortunately, things continued to go downhill. The bathtub did not drain properly while we were showering, and we discovered a beer bottle opener attached to the bathroom door frame—which we couldn't help but find amusing and a little concerning.
The biggest issue, however, was cleanliness. We encountered roaches in the room, including one actively running across the bedside table. That is simply not something guests should have to deal with in a hotel room.
Then, after turning off the lights to go to sleep, an extremely strong smell of marijuana filled the room. It was so strong that we initially thought someone was actually sitting in our room smoking.
We understand that things can occasionally go wrong, and we don't expect a luxury experience from a Best Western. However, basic cleanliness, functioning plumbing, and a reasonably comfortable environment are pretty fundamental expectations. Unfortunately, this stay fell well short of those expectations.
We hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues, because with some attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and the overall condition of the property, this could be a much better experience for future guests.
