  I stayed at the Best Western Ithaca while taking my dog to Cornell University Veterinary Hospital. My expectations for a dog-friendly hotel were fairly low, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was extremely clean, and the bathroom was spotless. I’m very sensitive to fragrance and had been concerned after seeing other reviews mention air fresheners, but despite my strong sense of smell, I didn’t notice any fragrance in the room at all. Unfortunately, our Cornell appointment didn’t go as planned, and after driving eight hours to get there, we ended up leaving a day early. I was very surprised and appreciative that Best Western refunded the unused night even though they weren’t obligated to do so. And one last thing, the bed was incredibly comfortable! Overall, I was very impressed with our stay and would absolutely stay here again.

  Completely disgusting experience. The room smelled of gasoline upon entering and one of the two beds was unmade (we were told the beds were queen sized but they were clearly much smaller) and I attached pictures of both beds to show the difference. We spoke to the front desk about it and the employee told us no other rooms were available that would be able to accommodate a family of our size except the one we had been given. When asked if we could have room service to clean our room we were told that room service wasn't in right now. We were told the manager wouldn't be in until morning. The employee herself (Kaylee) was very rude. After a long journey we, as customers, were understandably irritated, but the front desk employee instead of offering us solutions kept rudely telling us she couldn't do anything. When looking at reviews I saw that the same exact thing happened to someone a MONTH ago where the beds in their room were left unclean. In that situation the front desk worker had also said she couldn't do anything, and the hotel responded saying they had informed their worker so she would know what to do incase something like that happened again. However, it seems the hotel did not take proper action since the same situation is being repeated a month later. After not being offered any solution by the only employee available to us (front desk) we asked that she atleast give us clean bed sheets. With no where else to go for the night we then had to change the bedsheets ourself. We noticed stains on the sheets while changing them another sign that the bed was left unclean. The carpet wasn't vacuumed either and was very dirty and dingy. I'm completely appalled and disgusted after staying here and would seriously not recommend to anyone else.

  A ways from campus and downtown and an older building with older rooms, but clean and comfortable. All rooms are first floor, and it’s pet friendly! Conveniently close to vet school.

  This hotel is soooo loud. Doors slamming all night long, yelling in the hallway, not a place for a quiet nights rest.

  Pros: Breakfast is decent, rooms with 2 beds come with double sinks in the bathroom. Cons: A friend and I rented a room with 2 queen beds. There was ONE easy chair, no table to eat at. We would have liked to sit and socialize and eat a snack, but that meant one of us had to sit on our bed. Instead, space was taken up by a massive two-tiered desk that two people could work at side by side, but with one rolling chair. Total waste of floor space, no one is doing office work in their room. A fireplace also took up space, something that might be useful 3 months a year. The room door was incredibly hard to open and close and squeaked terribly, as did the folding door of the closet. We had to leave the closet door open because it was so hard to close and re-open. The owner needs to invest in some WD40. Heaven help you if you have any kind of impairment or you wouldn't be able to open the door! The towels in the bathroom were at the far opposite end of the shower, with no place to hang towels to dry off or dry hair. Woeful lack of hooks to hang towels for two adults using the shower. The in-wall hair dryer didn't work, so instead of repairing it, they hung a a hair dryer on the one hook on the bathroom door. An interior design rethink is in order.
