When I checked in late after driving all night, I stopped at this hotel to see they had an available room. I asked for a room on the first floor since there were no elevators and I have problems climbing stairs. The night clerk advised he only had "pet friendly" rooms on the first floor and aske if I had a pet. I told him I did not, but I also did not have allergies to pets. I told him I was ok with the room as long as the room was clean. He assigned me room 108. When I took my shoes off in the room, my feet stuck to the floor because it was so dirty.
Also, the A/C was off when I opened the room. When I turned it on, it smelled like wet dog and barely put out any cool air, even though I had set it on "HI Cool" @ 62 degrees. It took all night just to cool the room down enough to sleep. I was too tired to complain, so I just made the best of it.
When I checked out, I told the front desk clerk about the problems, and she said, " Maybe the housekeepers should change the rinse water for the mops more often." This was after I showed her the washcloth I used to clean my feet before getting into bed. I was also careful not to walk on the floors without shoes again. I also told her the filters in the A/C unit were clogged with pet hair and needed to be changed so the A/C could actually go its job of cooling the room without having to run all night long. Filters are usually cheaper than electricity to run an inefficient A/C unit.

We were double charged on the pet fee. I called to have it resolved and then they refunded the full amount just to charge the same amount again in two separate transactions. The staff was very friendly. The room was alright but not the best (kind of old/musty smell and could have been cleaner). There was a pile of full trash bags that sat outside near our room for a full day (they were still there when we left). It was a very affordable option, but definitely check your receipt and keep an eye on your bank statement!
We stayed on our way to Florida then again on the way home. We stayed in rm 105 worked great for our dog. We went around back to get to our room. 1st night when we walked around the back and there was a case of empty beer cans on the sidewalk, some trash on the ground and trash can was full, a storm had come through and I figured trash got blown around...no biggie. 2nd night we got the same room, walked around back, same case of cans on the sidewalk and even more trash scattered, trash can still full. I also forgot to tell front desk that the A/C squealed loudly everytime it shut off. Disappointed that the area had not been cleaned.

Ok, so people may dog on Best Western, but this location is pretty tight. Our room was one of the newly remodeled rooms (115&116) and it was very nice and comfortable. The outside of the hotel looks very nice as well. Sure it is an older hotel, but it has been kept up very nicely or even remodeled as well. It is an exterior entrance hotel which may turn some off some people, but the lot is fenced, secure, and clean. The staff was very friendly as well and very helpful. They offer a free breakfast which was actually pretty nice. Biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs, make your own waffles with cherries/chocolate chips, fresh fruit, and a nice selection of cereals. There is a nice and clean pool as well (don't forget to stop in at the office and get a towel though). All 5 of us adults were very satisfied with the hotel and would definitely stay again. It is located right off the expressway and safe.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. As other reviews stated this is more of a motel than hotel. Two floors with stairs, no elevator that I saw. Conveniently just off the freeway but not a lot of restaurants within walking distance. There is a Waffle House very close. The walls are concrete so no noise at all but cell coverage can be spotty. I would not call this a vacation place but for work or an overnight stop, it has everything you need.
