Zero stars if I could. Walked into a literal health hazard—the room was covered in mold on the air conditioning unit and completely uninhabitable. I had to pack up and check out in the middle of the night just to get out of there. With my asthma & allergies couldn’t do it. To top it off, when I tried to get my money back, the hotel had the nerve to lie and tell customer service that they "offered me another room" and that's why they won't refund me. That is a 100% lie. The guy at the front desk explicitly told me there were no other rooms and that he would just make a note of it (and yes, I have the audio recording and photos to prove it). Dishonest staff and gross conditions. Save your money and stay literally anywhere else.

Absolutely unacceptable experience we left in the middle of the night. If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. This was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and we ultimately ended up packing our things and leaving in the middle of the night. From the moment we arrived, there were red flags. There was a roach crawling in the lobby when we checked in. I pointed it out to the woman at the front desk, and she barely even reacted. Once we got to the room, it was honestly disgusting. The carpet was ripped, there were stains on the lamps and walls, outlet covers and light switches were broken, and the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been properly wiped down at all. There was dust piled up in the corners. Even worse, the swing lock on the door was broken and pulling out of the wall, which immediately made us feel less secure. Then, at 1:30 in the morning, when we were all getting ready to sleep after driving 10½ hours from Michigan, the front desk employee came knocking on our door saying our payment hadn’t gone through even though the transaction was clearly showing as pending in my bank account. What really crossed the line was that while I was getting up to answer the door, I heard her put her key into our door and start trying to open it. I immediately told her that was completely unacceptable. You do not start entering a guest’s occupied hotel room because they haven’t answered the door quickly enough. She responded that she was “just trying to let me know.” You knock and WAIT for the guest to answer. Period. I went downstairs and showed her that the hotel charge was pending in my account. I explained that I was not comfortable having my card charged again until we knew what happened with the first transaction because I was not risking being double charged. I asked if we could please handle it in the morning considering it was 1:30 AM and we had just driven 10½ hours. She told me no, it had to be handled immediately, and that she either needed to charge another form of payment or we would have to leave. I explained that I did not have another form of payment and again showed her the pending charge. She told me that if I couldn’t provide another payment method, we had to leave right then. So, in the middle of the night, we packed up all of our belongings and left. Thankfully, I’m a Marriott member, and their staff was incredibly helpful in getting us into another hotel. The difference was night and day—the new hotel was MUCH cleaner, the staff was professional, and we finally felt comfortable enough to actually sleep. Between the roach in the lobby, filthy and damaged room, broken security lock, an employee attempting to unlock and enter our occupied room at 1:30 AM, and then being told to leave over a payment that was visibly pending in my account, this was easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

Lets start with the positives first: The staff was nice, and breakfast was decent!! However the hotel ROOMS WERE DISCUSTING!!! Black mold and mildew all over the bathroom!! It's so thick and blatant across each wall, I am truly appalled the staff has done NOTHING to remove it. I included images to show the massive amounts and how thickly spread it was. There was a sticky black substance on the toilet seat. Had to squat to use the bathroom my entire stay!! These are not things guests should have to endure, in what's supposed to be the CLEANEST/MOST HYGENIC part of the room. The internet is ALSO HORRIBLE. I needed to complete an interview during my stay and while in the call, the WIFI disconnect my call, because of the poor service connection. I'm not sure if it's just rm 310 specifically, but it is not helpful to offer WIFI that is no better than being in the remotest parts of the Amazon Jungle

This was, without question, the worst experience we've ever had at any hotel. I drove over 10 hours from Florida to Charlotte for a major surgery that required me to check in at 6:00 a.m. Before arriving, I called the hotel on three separate occasions to request an early check-in due to my medical procedure. Each time I was assured that notes would be added to my reservation and that accommodations would be made, especially since we are Best Western Rewards members. When we arrived, we were greeted by alicia, who was by far the most rude, unprofessional, and unknowledgeable front desk associate I've ever encountered. She left me standing at the front desk for over 10 minutes before even acknowledging me. After I explained my situation, she insisted there were no notes on my reservation. Several minutes later, she admitted the notes were there after all. Despite knowing I was there for surgery, no effort was made to help us. Because I had to leave for my procedure, my husband was forced to sit in the parking lot for four hours with our autistic child, who was understandably overwhelmed and screaming, while I was in surgery. Alicia instructed my husband to call back around 7:00-7:30 a.m. after the shift change because housekeeping would prioritize cleaning a room for us. She also said the manager, David, wouldn't arrive until around 9:00-9:30 a.m. When my husband called, Sharon—the same employee who had previously assured me an early check-in would be accommodated—was rude and told him there were still no rooms available because housekeeping wouldn't be in until 9:30. We had also been told earlier that we'd likely have to wait until noon or 1:00 p.m. to see if a room became available. I have now just come out of surgery, and it's nearly noon. We are still driving around Charlotte looking for somewhere to go while I'm wearing compression garments, surgical drains, and recovering in severe pain. Instead of resting in a hotel room, I'm sitting in a car with my husband and our autistic child because this hotel failed to honor the accommodations they repeatedly promised. When I finally called the manager, David, hoping he would help resolve the situation, he immediately became defensive. Rather than listening, he repeatedly interrupted me, cut me off mid-sentence, and demanded my name before I could even explain what had happened. There was absolutely no empathy or concern for the situation. To make matters even worse, before my surgery Alicia allowed me to use the restroom to change into my pre-operative clothing. As I walked down the hallway, I noticed dead cockroaches lying on the floor. That was just another sign of the poor condition and lack of care at this property. I worked for Best Western for two years in Wyoming, so I know the level of customer service and hospitality that is expected. This experience fell far below those standards. The lack of communication, broken promises, poor customer service, and complete disregard for a guest recovering from surgery were unacceptable. If I could give this hotel one star, I absolutely would. I will also be contacting Best Western Corporate because no guest—especially one traveling for a medical procedure—should ever be treated this way.

I’d first like to say that the evening staff member who checked us in was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. She made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was disappointing. This hotel is in serious need of updates, and in the middle of the night we woke up to a very large cockroach in our room. I immediately went to the front desk to report it. The overnight employee showed very little concern and offered no real assistance other than saying she could come kill the bug. I ended up taking care of it myself. I found that response to be pretty disappointing. What bothered me most was that nothing was done to make the situation right. We weren’t offered a different room, a partial refund, or any other accommodation. The only response I received was, “We just sprayed.” That statement made me even more concerned because it suggested the hotel was already aware of a cockroach problem. Finding one bug is bad enough, but the lack of concern and customer service afterward was what really made this experience unacceptable. I appreciate the kindness of the employee who checked us in, but because of the condition of the hotel and the way this issue was handled, I would not stay here again.
