  This is the nicest Best Western i have ever been to! Rooms are large & very nice. The front desk was amazing. They have a pool & fitness center. The back of the lodge faces Detroit Lake that offers corn hole, kayaks, and life jackets. There is also a dock for seasonal slips. In the evenings, they offer smores for the kids from 8-9pm. Free breakfast 630-930. Highly recommend this for families.

  Take this with an unplanned factor of a storm that came through and many volunteers and construction booked the areas hotels full. Some cons may have not been preped for. Pros 1. Great location right on the lake with a great beach. 2. Does have an older log caben with wood doors and walls all over. 3. Many porches from rooms for a great view of the lake. Cons. 1. Not as prepaired for heavy rushes. They had wrong size sheets for fold out beds in the room. 2. Help from front end was a little poor. When following directions of their own sign it turned into more of a hunt around the room to find what we needed. 3. Breakfast was a bit subpar even for a normal free hotel breakfast. Eggs were a bit crisp burnt, potatoes were not cooked enough and a bit hard. The self cooking items like waffels and toster were ok. Summery: Again this may have been bad luck on our side and they did come around and help as much as they could. It seemed like it was more of a head count issue in different professions that may have been needed at the time of this review.
