(3.5/5) We stayed for about a week and overall - was a beautiful area. The location of this hotel was perfect, about a 10-15 minute walk to anywhere in the French Quarter and Bourbon St. area.
Upsides of the hotel:
(1) Gorgeous courtyard and ample space to relax outside in a quiet area.
(2) The pool was an amazing perk - it is cleaned nightly and honestly, we were in there everyday. The tile and vibes are absolutely stunning, loved being out there.
(3) Breakfast was served every morning and they switched up the mains to provide different options. They had all the usuals and more, all great options!
(4) The service was super friendly and warm. All my questions were answered and everyone was incredibly helpful. They even had asked if we needed help booking anything tour wise when we first arrived, although I had declined since we booked things on our own, it was a nice touch! I had read that some folks had poor service, but I never encountered that.
(5) Front lobby area and bar were gorgeous! Although it is not incredibly important, you could tell it was super inviting and definitely drew you in. Although we did not use the bar (or look at the prices), it looked well stocked and had a variety of options.
(6) Parking on site was incredible - a bit pricey, but made all the difference. Although I would say, is a bit tight - but we made it work! It is all covered too, which was really nice.
(7) AC! The AC in the room was INCREDIBLE. My gosh, it was so cold in there. Was so nice coming back to a cold room!
(7) Gary! There is a cat on-site, his name is Gary! We loved him so much, he was such a joy to find everyday! You will most likely find him walking around the courtyard or lounging by the pool.
And the downsides (there are always a few!):
(1) Cleanliness - I would say it was mostly clean. I always check the mattresses (for bedbugs/stains) and will not say in a gross room. The room was not too bad! Definitely a bit dated, and not deep cleaned in between guests. Not a deal breaker for me, but you may find dust in corners, potentially rust in the shower… But overall a very average service for the level of hotel it was.
(2) Pests and such… Like every city, there will be pests. This is not on the hotel itself, but I listed it in the downsides and you will probably encounter them. There are rats in the area for sure, I noticed them only in the garage and neighboring properties - not in the hotel itself. But they are there! Additionally, there are a ton of cockroaches in the city, therefore - you may notice a few in the courtyard or parking lot. Again, we never saw anything inside the hotel itself, but just be warned! It never bothered me at all since the room was pretty clean. Also, fair warning if you are bringing a pet… this city is crawling (or should I say jumping) with fleas. Our pup can’t be on any medication and ended up picking up some extra buddies. But I would be just extra careful, and potentially buy an extra flea collar as a precaution!
(3) Room size and sheets - I am only listing this as a just a heads up! It literally is not even a big deal, but if you have like 3-4 people your room - the space does feel a bit small. We had the 2 full size bedroom and it did the job! Was nothing special and was just a little tight - again I am being kind of picky here. Additionally, the sheets were a little strange, but maybe I am just used to having a comforter. It was like a blanket that had a sheet on top of it… but worked just fine and was pretty comfy.
Overall, was an amazing stay. For the cheap price, you honestly get a really great experience. I would definitely stay here again if I came back, the biggest perk being the vibes and pool. It was so nice coming back from a long day outside to relax by the pool and take a nap in a clean and super cold room. We had a blast at this hotel!
