The hotel felt safe and comfortable, there were a few things that didn't work as well as they should have in the room but for the $100 a night you can't beat it. My room had a broken shower curtain rod which had the curtain falling to the middle and the towel holder was also broken I was scared to use it or it would fall off and the hand sink kept plugging up, I left a review for them to fix those, but all the way around great spot for the price I paid. The feeling of comfort with two younger kids was my main concern and I was happy. The property was beautiful.
We stayed here for our daughter’s grad trip. I reserved a suite that had a queen room and a front room with a pull out sofa and 2 bathrooms. Upon arrival the man at the front desk was chipper and accommodating. However, we were disappointed to find out there’s no complementary full breakfast despite what I was told when I called ahead of time and spoke to a lady.
We get to our room and tstill had to wipe down some surfaces where there were smudges and questionable stains on the headboard. The pull out sofa was rock hard and we had to request bedding. Our queen bed was also rock hard and we had to request another blanket as the one on the bed was paper thin. We also had to request soap for the shower and sink. Toilet plumbing wasn’t the best. And upon preparing to leave, housekeeping walked in on us dressing at 10:30am when check out is at 11am and we had a do not disturb sign on the door. Not okay!
The pool and spa were very nice. The landscape was tropical and beautiful. Grounds were clean. No homeless residents which was a bonus. Close to Sea World, SD zoo, SDSU, Fashion Valley Mall, Mission Bay, airport and the freeways. Secure.
I'm not hard to please but this place should not have best western's name on it. I've never had a bad stay at a best western so I was very surprised at how terrible this place could be. The lamps didn't work, the air conditioner kept turning off every couple of minutes (which explains why many guests had there windows open). And the room wasn't as clean as it should have been. I made the trek all the way to back of the property just for lackluster air and a room with no working lamps. I was tired and decided to leave to which I was nonchalantly told by staff that I wouldn't be getting a refund. I would not recommend this place to homeless person.

First room they put me in was on the second floor so I grabbed my two pieces of luggage and walked up the stairs with them because there’s no elevator so if you have a bad back, make sure you get on the first floor! I get to the room and I called the front desk because It appeared that somebody might be already staying in the room. There were two open water bottles in different places, two used rags on the luggage rack and a Pokémon open toy box. The front desk Changed my room, so I grabbed my luggage and walked back down the stairs with it to the front Desk to get my new room on the first floor. It is three in the morning and I feel something fall on the bed from the ceiling and it’s a bug. I look up the bug and it says it’s a click beetle. Now I can’t sleep because I’m worried that another bug‘s gonna fall on me!

Subpar Property, Poor Maintenance, and Denied Accessibility (1/5 Stars)
The Best Western Seven Seas is definitely not as nice as the photos show. Prior to arrival, I requested and confirmed an accessible room with a walk-in shower. Because I live with Multiple Sclerosis, this is a medical necessity, yet the front desk told me none were available and failed to accommodate me. The room itself was poorly maintained; the bathroom vent and walls had black dust or mold, the wallpaper was lifting from mildew, and a plumbing leak under the sink completely soaked my shoes. The property is highly outdated, the beds are extremely uncomfortable, and it should be advertised as a motel-style layout. Additionally, cigarette smoke lingers heavily across the grounds, and most staff members were unfriendly. The only exception was a wonderful woman working the night and early morning shifts who warmly greeted me. Paying $380 for two nights was a terrible value, and the only nice part was the flowers and greenery outside. Travelers requiring accessibility should avoid this hotel.
