The is one of my go-to hotels in the LA area.
Location: Outside of rush hour, it's about 25 minutes to Hollywood, 15 minutes to Culver City, 15 minutes to Dockweiler Beach, and 10 minutes to the LAX rental car center. The hotel can be tricky to access the first time: if you're coming from the west on Centinela, you have to go to the next intersection and make a U-turn, as there is no turning lane. If you're approaching from the east, you can easily drive by it. It's very close to the intersection and there's generally traffic pushing you along.
Rooms: They've always been clean and in good repair. I don't love the stark white LED bulbs in all the lights, but everyone's using them now. I've always been comfortable and felt secure in the rooms. The doors do open to the outside, but unlike a traditional motel setup, they don't open onto the parking lot but to the small indoor courtyard. This makes it feel more like a vacation property, and it feels quite safe and pleasant.
Amenities/Nearby: There is no pool, but there is a jacuzzi and places to sit outside. Breakfast goes until 9, so I usually miss it. But there is a Starbucks right next door (no seating, but you can sit outside at the hotel), a Dunkin' Donuts across the intersection, and the well-known Pann's diner right nearby as well.
They've joined the post-pandemic trend of not making daily housekeeping standard, but they were able to accommodate my request for daily service with no problem. Everyone I've interacted with at the front desk has been friendly and helpful. This is another reason I return, because you don't always get friendly service at this price point.
There can be some street noise if you've got a room near the road, but that's not the hotel's fault. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and a great price for the LA area.
