Beware, room 233 was very dirty. Probably same with the rooms cleaned by the same housekeeper in the near by rooms.
We arrived late and there was only 1 room left of what we have booked, 2 beds with view. We spent an hour cleaning it ourselves.
Denise from the reception kindly helped us changed the pillow cases which clearly have not been changed for days, it feels a bit gluey too. The marble vanity clearly hasn't been cleaned, there was even toothpaste stink from previous guests. We wiped down all the doorknob and light switches, the wipes ended up very brown. We tried to use towel/bathroom mat, it was all grey inside, it's not old, but was dirty. So disgusting. Lucky we bought our own towels. Bedside table was full of dust, the radio clock, the lamp etc. Yes the hotel is old, but it's dirty. Room smells filthy too, and bathroom stays smelly like poop from the moment we entered the room. The whole time of our stay, we avoid touching anything, like the wall, the cupboard, etc.
Breakfast was the normal breakfast included, waffle was great especially on a seperate room to spread up the lines. Breakfast attendants are very nice.
The whirlpool was cold btw.
Again, Denise was very nice at check in. She went above and beyond.
Best Western Lake Powell was disappointing. The property is clearly outdated and needs renovation. Breakfast was chaotic — split across two rooms but still overcrowded, with limited seating and very few items worth eating. The terrace had only a handful of tables.
For $200 per night, the price–performance ratio is not good. The elevator was out of service, and despite the inconvenience, no assistance with luggage or any form of compensation was offered. The location is convenient, but the overall experience fell short.

We had a great stay at this property. The rooms were spotless, very spacious, and well-maintained throughout our visit. Breakfast was okay—it had everything we needed to start the day, even if fairly standard. The only real downside of the facilities is the swimming pool: it is on the smaller side and tends to fill up very quickly during peak hours.
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. A special mention goes to Dominica, who went above and beyond for us. When we ran into issues with our rental car and were forced to arrange a vehicle replacement, she stepped in and handled the communication with the rental agency directly. Her patience, kindness, and willingness to help turned a stressful situation into a smooth experience. Her exceptional hospitality made all the difference, and we are deeply grateful for her support.
Dominica was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay. She took great care of us and supported us with every difficulty we encountered, always with kindness, patience, and genuine professionalism. She truly went above and beyond her role at the reception to make sure we felt helped, understood, and comfortable.
Her warm attitude and willingness to find solutions made a real difference to our experience. We are very grateful for everything she did for us and would highly recommend her service. Thank you, Dominica, for your exceptional support and for making our stay so much better!
