Stunning location, but badly outdated and far too expensive. We stayed at this hotel for one night. Its location overlooking the harbour in Valdez is absolutely stunning and easily the best thing about it.
Unfortunately, the hotel itself is extremely dated. The reception staff were not very communicative or helpful, and the room was also badly in need of renovation. Neither the heating nor the air conditioning worked. When we reported this at reception, we were simply told that this was the case throughout the entire hotel. We were given a very small portable electric heater, which at least made the room slightly more comfortable, as it was very cold outside.
The breakfast was reasonable, but rather basic and limited. Overall, this hotel was definitely not worth the money. The price was ridiculously high considering how outdated the property and its facilities are. The beautiful location does not make up for the poor value and lack of comfort.

Probably one of the worst places we have stayed in - although the room was clean it was very dated. Plastic mattress protectors says it all. Breakfast was like being back at school, food on the floor, luke warm food, poor choice, dirty tables. Staff seemed very dispondent.
Probably best hotel in Valdez, relatively low bar though. If there was a better option I would have rated this lower. Staff was nice but they smoked a few feet from our room and our room constantly smelled like smoke. No AC, so closing the window was not an option.

Paid extra for a room with a harbor view and told them we were traveling with a pet. Apparently nobody checked the reservation details where it said "hey we're traveling with our dog" so there were no issues with the reservation until we finished our 6 hour drive to the hotel. We get there and all of a sudden their "pet friendly" rooms are on the other side of the hotel with zero harbor view. Feels like we got bait-and-switched. Typical apathetic tourist town level of accommodation and customer service. Nobody cares because there's always gonna be someone else in line willing to give them money. Just take what they give you and deal with it.
