I hardly take time to add reviews but this one in particular was completely out of the mark, abysmal experience !
I’ve been staying in San Francisco for the past 7 years prior to which I was in New York, had been in Vancouver for a year as well, obviously not my first country out of India and not the first time trying them Indian food outside.
The food was poorly cooked and lacked any flavor. We ordered a biryani with vegetables.
What bothered me the most was the owner’s attitude, writing this because it seemed extremely racist, specially when she’s running an Indian/Nepalese restaurant.
We were two folks and preferred a biryani because that was the most we could eat as per our appetite at the time. The owner was rude enough to point that out, moreover charged us for 2 glasses of water (which seemed directly out of tap), charging 4.5CHF for each.
I’ve read similar reviews here as well, but wherever in the world you go, don’t you understand tap water is not a beverage to buy, and if it is, tell the customer first !
Extremely disappointed, only visited because it was near our hotel Sheraton. And no one wonder, it was completely empty on a summer friday night.
On 4th August, 2026, we dined at Naanu GmbH located in Zurich. During this visit, we experienced multiple severe service failures.
Very bad food. Ordered Paneer Makhani and gravy was feels like water. Ordered 2 naan and it’s burnt. Ordered Basmati rice, bowl was hot but not the rice. Based on that we decided not-to order anymore food and end up going to the other restaurant.
Not friendly at all. Lady at reception has no manners to ask for Water during our entire time at the restaurant. When I ask her about the water she says we do not offer, she said you need to pay for it so what’s the difference as we pay for food as well but point here is no customer service. When I paid for food, she charged me $5.50 CHF service fee and when I asked what it is she said it’s for washing dishes. And then she started fighting with me in front of a kid. When I ask for manager/owner she said I am not giving you name. I asked her for her name she refused to give her name and said it’s my name I don’t want to give. The way she was fighting in front of a kid was so bad so I ended up leaving and writing this review. I recommended to avoid this restaurant completely. This restaurant not even worth 1 star, if I have options for minus star I prefer that. If you really want to eat a nice Indian food I prefer to go somewhere else, worst experience ever.
Very friendly and cozy place with comfort food. Yak momo is a must try.

Delicious desi food with very welcoming environment. Food portions are really good too. Definitely worth a visit in Zurich

We visited because we were very hungry and the restaurant was conveniently located close to our hotel. We ordered the chicken biryani and chicken momo, and finished everything.
The chicken biryani had a simple, home-cooked style taste, but wasn’t so amazing. However, the momo could have been much better—the filling was quite dry, and the outer layer was a bit too thick. It would have been far more impressive with a juicier filling and a thinner wrapper.
Overall, the food was decent and certainly eatable, but it wasn’t memorable enough for me to return or specifically recommend to others.
