La création en mars 1986 d’un atelier de réparations et d’entretien de harpes, ventes d’accessoires (cordes, sièges…) situé dans le bâtiment des artisans du CIMA (Centre International de la Mécanique d’Art), rue de l’Industrie à Sainte-Croix, marque le début de la Manufacture de harpes David. Très vite un nouveau collaborateur est engagé pour les services au domicile des clients, qui sont alors en majorité en Suisse.
