    My partner and I regularly come to this location for dinner on the weekend. We are also regularly served by Sarah, and it is always a pleasure. Her service is fantastic, quick and thorough. She thinks of things I didn't even think of, and always remembers to ask for preferences. I appreciate her personal touches and kindness whenever we visit. I can also see her working the bar, and it must be difficult to balance both so props to her for managing it all!

    Ate here recently for a meal of three (totaling about $94 before a 15% tip). Here is the honest breakdown of our experience: Good: The service was excellent. Our server was incredibly sweet and attentive. Food portions are also massive. Not so Good: Cleanliness is a major issue. Our table and cups were dirty. We asked for a replacement cup, and the second one was dirty as well. The side plates also had some residue. Food: Was ok, but not great. Salad was slightly soggy. Had the chicken parm, and the chicken was slightly burnt/dry and accompanying pasta was cold when brought out. Our server was absolutely wonderful and kind, hospitality 100%, but the overall cleanliness/environment and food quality could be improved.

    We’ve been coming to East Side Mario’s for many years, and unfortunately we’ve noticed a significant decline in both the service and overall dining experience over the past year. During our most recent visit, the restaurant was only about half full, yet there were several parties waiting ahead of us and we were quoted a 20-minute wait despite many empty tables being visible throughout the restaurant. Once seated, our server took our drink order promptly, but it took quite a while for the drinks to arrive. We then experienced multiple service issues throughout the meal. Bread wasn’t brought out in a timely manner, there were no plates or cutlery at our table, and we had to ask twice before receiving utensils. We were also never offered Parmesan cheese for our salads and soups, which has always been a standard part of the East Side Mario’s experience. To make matters worse, some items were forgotten altogether and had to be requested again. When they finally arrived, they were served in a paper cup, which felt unprofessional and out of place for a dine-in restaurant experience. When our food arrived, the quality was disappointing. The salad had little to no dressing, the meatballs were served dumped on top of the pasta with no sauce, and the pasta itself was barely covered in sauce. Overall, the food felt rushed and lacked the quality and attention to detail we’ve come to expect. The atmosphere also felt off. The TVs were not on, there was no music playing, and combined with the slow service, the restaurant felt unusually quiet and lacking energy. We’ve always enjoyed coming here and have many positive memories over the years, which makes it especially disappointing to see the experience continue to decline. We hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to bring back the quality, service, and atmosphere that made this location a family favourite for so long.

    We ordered lunch catering through the ESM website one week in advance of our event. On the day of the delivery (after the scheduled time), we were contacted by a DoorDash delivery driver who said the restaurant couldn't find our order. This initially felt concerning, as we had ordered directly through ESM, and weren't aware they sub-contract to DoorDash. Once we shared the details, the restaurant tried their best to fulfill the order, but not all the items we ordered were available and the food arrived over an hour late. While not ideal, we appreciated the effort and most people were eventually fed. The bigger issue has been the follow up. We requested a partial refund for missing items and a reduced tip, which the restaurant manager agreed with. Corporate directed us to the restaurant, while the restaurant indicated corporate needed to be involved. This back and forth required multiple follow ups on my side, and despite this issue occurring 12 weeks ago, we still haven't received any refund or clear resolution. Overall, this experience was frustrating not just because of the delivery issue but because of the lack of accountability and customer service after the fact. If you're ordering catering through ESM, it might be worth calling the restaurant directly to confirm your order in advance of your event. Based on this, I wouldn't choose ESM catering again.

    The service was pretty good, however, I was really disappointed about the budda boomers situation. They brought out the first plate of budda boomers, I was honestly really shocked about it because they looked like pita chips lol, and I sent them back. Then they brought out another plate that looked the exact same or worse. I’ve had budda boomers at other locations that have never looked like that. I once again said something and then they brought the manager over who said she would go back and speak to the kitchen about it and then on the third attempt, they managed to get it right. However, it’s pretty wild that it took them three times of making them to get it correct… photos attached with timestamps. it took basically an hour just to get the budda boomers.
