I recently decided after decades of watching East Side Mario’s “hokey” commercials to take my family including my grandkids there.
To my surprise, the food was actually very good and more than plentiful. I could not finish my meal and the kids portions were so insane, that could have fed 2 easily.
What made the meal even more enjoyable was our server Becky. She’s was so attentive, and an absolute doll and could not do enough for us.
I just spent on all our family’s meals less than what I normally spend on one meal.
This restaurant just became my new favourite family restaurant.
This review is very overdue but I still have to write it. Our visit to East Side Mario's was an absolute treat because of the fantastic service provided by Derek. He was genuinely attentive and super fun! Beyond keeping our table well taken care of, Derek made the night truly special with the best birthday surprise. I mentioned that the food bringing robot is awesome. At the end of the meal, he got the robot to bring me the cake and sing a little song. Adorable! He is so funny and engaging. Derek is absolutely why we'll be looking forward to our next visit to East Side Mario's. Thank you for such a wonderful time, Derek!
The Linguine Chicken Tetrazzini was good and yes, add that cheese! But honestly, we love the garlic bread. The warm toasty bread with the soup is delicious. The portions are great and I got to enjoy my left over pasta the next day. Can't wait to come back here again!
The wait staff is so wonderful and attentive. The manager came round to check on us as well. We ordered the steak and cheese pizza and garlic chicken parm spaghetti during their garlic fest promotion. It came with unlimited soup, salad and bread. The Italian wedding soup was very flavorful. I mean this in the best possible way when I say the tomato soup brought me back to a childhood memory of chef boyardi and grilled cheese. Overall, this place is great. The washrooms are nice and clean.
It is absolutely not fine dining, but it is a wonderful family restaurant with lovely staff, good food and a friendly atmosphere. We will most definitely be back!

I have never had such awful food for $165. We ordered take out. What an absolute abomination. My husband did build your own pasta. He got a pile of over cooked penne... So over cooked it was falling apart. There was barely a spoonful of arrabiatta sauce, and LITERALLY four strips of that pre cooked grilled chicken.
I also ordered build your own pasta and did linguine with Bolognese sauce and baked cheese. The pasta was dry... I even paid extra for sauce. There was an occasional speck of meat, and the cheese wasn't brown and warm and bubbly it was cold, white and like plastic.
My son's $32 chicken Parmesan was like shoe leather.
The only decent part was the bread and butter, but even that wasn't top notch.
Absolutely we will never ever come here again. It was worse than mall food court fast food Italian.

We had the best time at this East Side Mario's. I understand why it receives consistently high ratings. It was late, only 45 minutes until close, but we still received full service (including unlimited soup/salad and bread). Our server, Divine, was prompt, very friendly and welcoming, and we felt such a great vibe from her that it made for the perfect end to our day of family fun at nearby Canada's Wonderland. Divine clocked us and our daughter immediately as on holiday and so she made sure to make our evening extra special. The host, whose name we didn't catch, was also friendly and we could tell the whole staff get along well and enjoy working there. As former restaurant service workers ourselves, that always puts us at ease. Thanks again, Divine and everyone!
