Ghazal was the life of tonight's party! She definitely made our night. While the food was good, she was the cherry on top. Came in for a nice dinner with family and we certainly got that. Everyone had a good meal with lots of bread and salad of course. My dad was the only one who had soup; the potato and bacon which he actually comment was good and he really liked it. I enjoyed my Canadian Calzone thorough. It had a great crust with a nice chewy interior dough. Definitely did not disappoint. Everyone seemed to also enjoy their meals and basically left plates empty. My son had the chicken parmesan. He even ate the penne pasta and he really isn't a pasta guy. Overall we had a good experience and as I said, Ghazal was amazing so I'll be asking for her next time. Her service level was impeccable and despite being busy she did what she could to take care of us and if she needed a minute to sort something out she let us know and was back and ready to take care of us when she was done. Super cheerful, great with the kids and on top of our drinks which included remembering how my wife liked her salad. Thanks for a great night. Haven't been to an East Side Marios for a while and it's probably because I hadn't been to this location. And so now I have a reason to go back.

I had lunch with my fiancée at this location over the weekend, and unfortunately it was disappointing from the moment we arrived. We hadn't been to East Side Mario's in years and decided to give it another try while we were in the area. We both ordered pasta dishes, which came with garlic bread and a choice of soup or salad. The garlic bread was heavily saturated with garlic butter, which we didn't find appealing. We both chose Caesar salads, and they were underwhelming—lacking flavour and dressing, and tasting like they came straight from a bagged salad mix. The biggest issue occurred when my partner found an earwig (insect) in her salad. We brought it to our server's attention, and initially she questioned whether it was actually a bug. After I pointed out that it was clearly an earwig given its pincers, she apologized and took the salad away. I opted for the tomato soup instead, but found it equally disappointing and lacking flavour. For our entrées, I ordered the Linguine Chicken Tetrazzini and my partner ordered the Chicken Parmesan. My pasta was bland, and my partner felt there wasn't enough tomato sauce on her dish. She ended up leaving a significant portion of her meal unfinished. When our server checked on us, we simply requested the bill. She offered a takeout container and dessert, both of which we declined. What surprised us most was that despite the issue with the insect in the salad, nothing was removed from the bill or otherwise acknowledged beyond the initial apology. We ended up paying more than $70 for a meal that was underwhelming in quality, flavour, and service. Finding a bug in a salad is unacceptable, and the lack of any meaningful effort to address the situation left a particularly negative impression. We will not be returning.

We had a great experience at East Side Mario’s. The quality and portions were good and definitely met our expectations. We ordered the Caesar Salad, Mario’s Mangia Sampler, and the Mini Mario Sampler, and everything was enjoyable. The restaurant has a very family-friendly atmosphere, which made dining with our child easy and comfortable. A special thanks to Maz, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. He knows how to serve families well and made our child feel genuinely welcome. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with good food, good portions, and excellent service.

We had a great experience, and Betsy was a huge part of it. From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. She was knowledgeable about the menu, made excellent recommendations, and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. What really stood out was her positive attitude and attention to detail. Our drinks were always topped up, everything arrived promptly, and she made us feel genuinely valued as customers. Outstanding service like Betsy's is hard to find. She helped make our meal enjoyable from start to finish, and we will definitely be back. Thank you, Betsy, for the excellent service!

My experience at East Side Mario’s on 2171 Steeles Ave W in North York was absolutely horrible. The waitress was sweet, but she tried to convince me that the bug I found in my Caesar salad wasn’t actually a bug. It definitely was. My fiancé even pointed out the legs and antennae. I ordered the Chicken Parm, and it was incredibly bland. No seasoning, no salt, nothing. The soup and salad were also underwhelming, and the overall meal was just… blah. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality. I will never return. If you’re looking for a similar restaurant, do yourself a favour and go to Scaddabush instead. In my opinion, it’s a 10/10 compared to East Side Mario’s, which I’d rate a 3/10. The prices are comparable, but the food quality isn’t even close. What really surprised me was that after finding a bug in my salad, there wasn’t even a small discount or gesture of goodwill. Nope, the full bill came straight to the table. Gross!
