  East Side Mario’s has always been one of my faves and I’m glad to see things haven’t changed. The Linguine Chicken Amatriciana is still an amazing dish and the all-you-can-eat soup/salad and bread are a great value making East Side’s still one of the tastiest and well-priced places to eat. The topping on the cake was Emma, the manager on site that night and our server. She was marvellous, attentive without being in your face. We loved her and would go back there just to be served by her…but the good food and good price don’t hurt! ;)

  Really disappointed. I have ordered a cheese cappelletti every time I’ve been here my whole life. Two of us at the table ordered it. This time, both came with watery tomato sauce and mine was burnt. I thought maybe the menu had changed from the usual rosé and I didn’t realize but no, they just did that for no reason. So I asked for a new one and it eventually came, with the right sauce but again the cheese was burnt and dry in some areas. Also disappointed the croutons in the salad are not the same quality as they used to be. They taste flavourless and cheap. The pina colada was great and our server was also great but I’m just disappointed and probably won’t be back to east side Mario’s again.

  The place lacks cleanliness. Its not the first time I have experienced this at east side. The garbage on the floor was passed by many workers including the on site manager. Ive seen this on other occasions. This was near closing not this weekend we just past but the last. The first interaction was very slow and the bread to the table took about 14 minutes. After that, the wait times for the rest of the dishes was what you would see quickly at other franchises.

  Placed a take out order and received terrible service. I was told it would be a 10 minute wait and waited 40 minutes. The lady came out and didn’t even acknowledge me or ask which order I was waiting on. After 40 minutes she said it was the salads we were waiting on and that they haven’t even been started yet. I then asked to add 2 chocolate gelatos to my order and she claimed “I don’t think I can give that to you because it usually comes with a kids meal”, I have gotten gelato every time I have came to eat and never ordered off the kids menu. After getting to the car I noticed she didn’t give us butter with our 4 loafs of bread and also forgot the Alfredo sauce for the pasta I ordered. I am extremely disappointed in the service especially since this has always been my favourite restaurant.

  Night started with showing up in person and was told 35 min wait. I originally decided to leave and give some time for the rush to quiet before calling the restaurant to ask for wait time, on the phone call they said 10-15 mins I asked to be put on a wait list they said cant do that as its first some forst serve and that the rush has quieted down. We go back and get told at the host stand its a 25 min wait. Not what we were told on the phone. We wait, eventually get seated ahead of another couple that were already waiting for some reason. The girl sits our party of 2 at a little corner table right beside a multi person birthday party the table was not set with plates or cutlery. I look at the booth beside us and ask to be seated there away from the party and she said uhh its dirty I said I will sit at it its fine, or give me a rag i will clean it myself. She wipes the table down with a soaking rag and leaves it wet and lets us sit down. No cutlery or side plates at this table either. The waitress comes and gives us a loaf of bread before we even got drinks or ordered. We finally get our waitress to take our order as shes the only person seemingly running around out on the patio etc etc. All other staff looked like they walked from point a to point b and back just to appear busy but did nothing, dirty table left for lengthy periods of time. So waitress brings our salads and no cutlery I had to wave a girl down to bring some to the table I literally ate my salad with my fingers for minutes before anyone brought cutlery. Waitress finally takes our order and then serves another under cooked loaf of bread. She takes our salad bowls and asks anything else for you guys wjile you wait? I thought it was all you can eat salad but at no point did u ever get offered more salad while we waited she took the bowls. We had ate our salads and sat for over 30 mins before waving the waitress down to ask wait time on food she checks and comes back and said it was coming right up just getting the sauces for the calzone. We get our calzone and chicken Alfredo and the Alfredo clearly sat under the lamp so i instantly asked for to go containers and the bill since it was taking so long in between i was worried it would be another 30 min wait for the bill. long all the sauce melted off the noodles and the noodles stick together in one big chunk. She asked if i wanted parmasean I said oh no thanks this already looks like it died under the lamp, the waitress says oh the Alfredo sauce just settles so quickly. She walks away I try a bite of my Alfredo and it tasted awful somehow like rubber, we both spit it back in the bowl, which is incredibly rude I try to never spit food out. The waitress comes back and said she saw us spit it out and asked if we wanted anything else as she saw us spit it out we said no thank you? She offered to fast track another alfredo, said she could get it done in 5 minutes i tried to be polite and say no thanks eating the same thing after tasting it taste bad kind of ruins the want for more ya know but she tried to press on for us to order new food or to either to speak to the manager who she said was her boyfriend i said no i would be scared what would be accomplished in 5 minutes that sounds scary. I said no thank you. Never at any point did she offer to comp anything from the meal. So I ate 1 good loaf of bread and some mediocre garden salad that was mostly eggplant and couldn't eat my main and still paid 63 dollars for the meal. AND I paid with 2 $25 dollar gift cards so there was a remaining balance of $13 and some odd change and I gave the waitress a $20 and she just never brought me back any change she just kept it forcing me to tip her. So I had to pay full price and tip on a meal that sucked. We own our own business so we told her we understand shes trying to rectify the situation but theres not much that she could do. Will never ever be back.
