Excited to have one much closer to home! My spouse and I came in for lunch. We got seated quick, our server Jess W was extremely attentive, enthusiastic and ensured we had a great experience! We were given their house bread loaf which was fresh and hot! We then ordered the garlic Parmesan chicken wings which had amazing flavours in each bite left us wanting more, the lunch size pizza which came with 2 toppings (my spouse chose pepperoni and peppers) he said it was extremely delicious, I ordered the lunch size meatballs on a hoagie and it too was delicious! They currently do not have their liquor license as of today (June 15th) but that didn’t stop us from enjoying and remembering why we love this chain so much!! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Jess W!!

Was so excited to try. We had to wait roughly 30 minutes for a table which was not horrible, was good to see there was a lot of interest in this place. Unfortunately our service was terrible. Our server was very kind but we waited 45 minutes just to have our drink order taken. We then waited another 20 minutes just to get the drinks and another 15 minutes after that to have our food order taken. The staff were poorly organized. Servers were having to go behind bar to make all of their own drinks - fancier ones included. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, there should have been designated staff who were dealing with all the drinks to help take the tension off the servers especially just opening! We were there for 2.5 hours and ordered very basic items. We will try again in a few weeks. Hopefully everything will become more organized! Food was OK! Pasta had next to no sauce - mozzarella sticks were hard as rock on my daughter’s mini Mario platter.
Prices are very affordable!
Unfortunately we had a poor experience with East Side Marios which will result in us not returning or booking a reservation again.
We booked a reservation for Tuesday June 9th at 5:30 pm on Sunday.
They called us on Monday June 8th saying we had missed our reservation... Literally impossible.
I called back and had to explain that the reservation was made for Tuesday, not Monday, at 5:30pm. They confirmed and apologized.
We arrived at 5:30 and to our dismay were told we had somehow missed our reservation and the table had been given away. They had gotten the time wrong ... Again...
My sister then had to debate back and forth to get a table, that we reserved.
They wanted to seat us on the patio, as they were determined that we were late. It is muggy and gross out, and calling for rain, we denied being sat outside. Eventually someone was able to scrounge up a table indoors.
The server was wonderful, she should be recognized for maintaining a professional and kind attitude, while she was in a bad situation.
Unfortunately we were not informed that they did not have their liquor license when we booked (and every time we contacted them after) and we were at the establishment for a Graduation Celebration... Apparently a sober one...
The food was luke cold when it arrived , and we were too worried to say anything as we had already waited over an hour for our food, so we sucked it up and eventually, finally got to leave.
I've worked in the Restaurant Industry for over a decade at this point and am aware that things happen... But not this many issues all at once.
Customers should be informed when they book whether or not you can serve alcohol, if the establishment is expected to/advertises it. The plates should not be hotter than the food being served on them. Finally, the reservation system they have in place clearly needs some refining.

We arrived at 4:30pm on a Sunday with a group of 7 (3 toddlers, 4 adults) and no reservation expecting it not to be busy. It was busy but they found us a table and sat us all right away brining boosters and high chairs to the table which was great! They don't have their liquor license yet, which we did not know about until we went to order drinks, but that didn't bother us. Overall the food was good
We sat at the table without a waitress greeting us for 20 minutes. Our drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive at the table, they forgot one of the kids drinks, and brought the wrong drink for one of the adults. Food orders were finally taken at 5:20pm (50 minutes after we sat down) which is when we're were told a loaf of bread would come to the table. Bread and soup for one adult arrived at the table 10 minutes later. The garden salad arrived another 15 minutes later followed by 2 cesar salads 5 minutes later. Food arrived at the table around 6:10pm (almost 2 hours after we sat down) with one plate for a kid taking another 5 minutes to arrive. We ate, kids were offered their gelato while still eating their food, paid, and we left the restaurant around 6:40pm
I understand this restaurant is new. I understand it takes time to get organized. What I do not understand is how we sat and watched:
- a table of 2 that came in after us eat dessert while we still hadn't had our food orders taken
- a table of 6 celebrating a birthday leave and the table of 7 that took over their table received their food before us
- a table of 4 beside us leave and the table of 4 that came in after them packing up their food as my toddler was still waiting for their dinner
Don't get me wrong I enjoy time with the group of folks we went to dinner with but the service tonight was unacceptable and I hope no one else experiences it
Being locals here, we were so excited for the new East Side Mario’s in St. Catharines, but our experience was extremely disappointing.
Arrived just before 7 p.m. and were told about a 30-minute wait. We were seated on the patio, gave our number, and were told we’d be called when ready. We were not offered drink service outside, so we went in and purchased drinks ourselves.
Over an hour later, we still hadn’t been called, while we watched other parties get seated ahead of us. At after 8 p.m., we went inside and found multiple empty tables available.
The manager insisted repeatedly that we had been called, which was not true. No one came to the patio to call our name, despite this happening for other guests. Instead of resolving the issue, we were met with argument rather than accountability.
After a 1.5-hour wait and poor handling of the situation, we chose to leave.
This wasn’t about waiting—it was about disorganization and an unprofessional “manager” with poor customer service skills.
