8 of us went Sunday night (June 14th) to celebrate my wife's birthday which included 2 children. Have I had better Italian food? Absolutely. However it was the perfect place to have our celebration with young kids. What especially made it great was our ever smiling and attentive server Emmy. She was fabulous as commented on afterwards by all of us. And no.....none of us are related to her. Lol. Please pass along our thanks to her again.
We’ve been here multiple times now. The other visits were great, which is why tonight’s experience was so disappointing. This visit honestly deserves a negative star.
We had a 6:30 PM reservation specifically for a booth. When we arrived, we waited until 6:45 PM only to be told there were “no booths available” and that we would instead be seated at a table once the server was ready. Meanwhile, we could clearly see an empty booth sitting there. After requesting it ourselves, suddenly we were able to be seated there.
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of the terrible experience.
We were excited to order the unlimited soup and salad along with our meals and enjoy our evening. Instead, our server DANI completely refused to let us order the unlimited garden salads. We repeatedly asked her when we would actually be allowed to order them, and we kept getting nowhere.
It got so ridiculous that we finally had to request a manager. At 7:07 PM — over 45 minutes after our reservation time — the manager finally agreed to let us order the unlimited salads. Imagine having to fight just to order SALAD. Meanwhile, we had already ordered main meals over $20 each, so there was absolutely no reason for this issue in the first place.
Dani provided terrible service from start to finish, and nothing meaningful was done to fix the situation besides finally allowing us to order what we should have been able to order from the beginning.
What makes this even more disappointing is that we originally had a completely different outlook on this restaurant because our first two visits were 5-star experiences.
Unfortunately, tonight changed that entirely. We are changing our previous 5-star opinion of this location, and after tonight’s experience, we will not be returning.
Extremely disappointing experience. We left frustrated instead of enjoying what should have been a relaxing dinner.
I have been awaiting the district manager to communicate with me however, that has never happened. I have been waiting over a week for a response.
Stopped by East Side Mario’s Pickering for a couple of beers and an appetizer, and had a great experience. The service was excellent from start to finish, and Dani M was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout my visit.
The food and drinks were exactly what I was looking for, and the overall experience was enjoyable and relaxing. Great service can make all the difference, and Dani M did a fantastic job. I’ll definitely be back.
Haven’t been to ESM in years and wasn’t expecting much… the new 3 course menu was incredible though. The food and portions were fantastic! Our waitress was Erica and she was such a doll. One of the sweetest waitresses I’ve ever had and I would come back to this location particularly just for her haha. Loved everything! The only negative.. the wooden booth tables are so incredibly sticky and so much grime. No matter how much you clean them, they are super grimey. Highly suggest investing in a new finish/polish for these wooden tables. Other than that, everything was great! 🥰 We chose the bacon pasta and the sampler dish and they were fabulous!! The frozen peach sangria was also so yummy!
Great location, lots of seats available Friday night and the food was fresh and hot. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the server, it seemed like she did not want to give us any refills on the bread? We asked for more after our first ones and she came back and gave us only one. After that we asked for more and she served us one at a time taking 15 min wait between each one. Bread seems like something they should have ready and plenty of at all times. It also seemed like she rushed us along — after getting two more breads she asked us whether we wanted takeout containers for our food and the bill. The restaurant was not busy at all so we were confused why we were being rushed along — perhaps for asking for more bread??
