One of the worst delivery experiences I have had with any courier.
DHL’s own tracking portal allowed me to submit a signature release and delivery instruction to leave the package at the front door, which I did because I work in person and am not home during normal delivery hours. Despite that, the drivers repeatedly refused to follow the instruction. One driver even told me, “you can sign the release until your face is blue but I still won’t leave the package here,” which is an unbelievably unprofessional way to speak to a customer.
The shipment was then marked as undeliverable, and I was told to pick it up from the Gladwin Crescent depot, which is far from my location. I contacted DHL Canada customer service, and even when the representative reached out to the operations team at this location, the initial response was still refusal. Only after I pushed the issue further and the representative escalated it again to Gladwin management was the package finally redirected to a closer service point.
I have had packages delivered by Amazon, Canada Post, FedEx, Purolator, and other couriers to the same building without this level of difficulty. DHL was by far the most frustrating and least customer-oriented experience. The process was rigid, dismissive, and needlessly difficult from start to finish.
I would strongly avoid using this DHL location if you have any other option.
