I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from DHL Express.
On March 20, 2026, I sent important documents from Ottawa to Germany using your “Express” service. At the time of shipment, I was clearly told that delivery would take only a few days, with an expected arrival by Monday or Tuesday.
It has now been approximately 10 days, and the shipment has still not even arrived in Germany.
What is even more concerning is the completely illogical routing. Instead of a direct or efficient route, the shipment appears to have been sent through multiple unnecessary transit points, including regions like Asia (Singapore, possibly even Australia). This makes absolutely no sense for a Canada-to-Germany shipment and raises serious concerns about how this shipment was handled.
At this point, it genuinely feels like there was either gross negligence or a complete lack of care when processing this shipment. The routing is so inefficient that it almost feels intentional.
These were important documents. The recipient in Germany has already spent multiple days staying at home waiting for delivery, unable to leave, based on the original timeline provided. Meanwhile, DHL has provided no proactive updates, no explanation, and no apology.
This is not what anyone expects from a premium courier service like DHL Express. You charge a premium price, but the level of service in this case is completely unacceptable.
Key issues:
Delivery time massively exceeded (10+ days instead of a few days)
Completely illogical and inefficient routing
No communication, no updates, no accountability
Significant inconvenience caused to the recipient
I used DHL because of its reputation for reliability and speed. This experience has seriously damaged that trust.
At this point, I expect:
1. A clear explanation of why the shipment was routed in such an inefficient way
2. Immediate status clarification and realistic delivery timeline
3. Compensation for the delay and the inconvenience caused
This level of service is simply unacceptable for DHL Express.
