  Portions have changed from what they used to be and our server was not overly attentive. We never expect the food at east sides to be amazing given it’s a chain but the appeal is the unlimited soup/salad and bread. Our server never asked if we wanted more and there were big gaps in checking on us so it was hard to request more. It was not busy in the restaurant and it was an early dinner seating on a weekday. The women’s washroom was out of paper towel and a lady who was in the washroom at the same time as us mentioned that the toilet paper dispenser in one of the stalls was falling on her so she took it off. In my opinion the salad and bread were the best part of the meal as they were fresh and made well. The pasta dishes the adults in our party ordered were mediocre. The kids were happy with their meals.

  Good service, friendly and attentive staff. We had a very good meal, with the family, with large portions of food in a very reasonable amount of time, considering the amount of people that were there at that time of day.

  Service was amazing, food was hot and delicious. Our server/waitress Annissa, was absolutely on top of things and we felt spoiled. Great experience! We will be coming back to the Dundas location

  Update: After posting my review, the manager reached out personally to apologize, listened to my concerns, and took steps to make things right. I really appreciate the genuine concern, and excellent customer service shown in resolving the issue. While our initial experience was not great, the way it was handled afterward has restored my confidence and I would recommend this location. Initial review: We love East Side Mario's but this location is not what we are used to. We were a group of 4 and our food came undercooked and luke warm. However, our bowls were hot, possibly sitting on a hot plate for a while because the top of our food was stiff and harder than the rest of the dish. Our server was kind and pleasant and the place was clean which we appreciated.

  My husband and I usually love coming to this location for dates; however after our most recent visit I am reconsidering. • To start we booked a reservation for July 15th to eat for 7pm in a booth seating area. (I called at 4pm to set the reservation) • We arrive at 7pm, and no reservation was made and no booth available as they were all dirty pending clean up. • We said we didn't mind waiting till a booth got cleaned... to which the waitress cleaned the table quickly but gave us back 2 of the small side plates originally on that prior to cleaning. Yes there was food splatter on them as they were from the previous peoples table set up. • We then waited over 20 mins before being asked if we wanted something to drink. We requested a Violet Lemonade and a Strawberry milkshake drink to start. Plus request clean side plates. • 45 mins have gone by, we finally get our drinks. Have to request plates again and we both order our entrees which come with salad/soup. I requested soup while my husband requested a salad with Salmon on the side (for me to enjoy with my main dish). • Its now 8pm and we finally get salads and soups with the salmon on the side where we finally get clean plates so I can set our salmon on the side. Request a refill on our drink and also realize there is no cutlery on the table. So had to wait 5 mins for the waitress to return before getting her attention to request cutlery and the drink refill. • A kitchen staff member then comes out in a worry asking if our salmon was cooked because it was supposed to go through the oven first but was instead served directly to me. Bless her heart cause she was very sweet and concerned, however the salmon was fine to my liking. (Was going to rate my review 2 stars but the fact this kitchen staff showed more concern for our dining experience than our waitress did overall, I bumped it to 3 stars for the food.) • We have been here for about an 1.5hrs and still no entree. Our waitress had ignored our table so often, and served many people that arrived after us with frequent check-ups. Then our waitress took a random break to sit at a table that might have been her family/friends for about 20 mins; all while our pasta entrees must have been done and waiting. As once we got them, it was all dry and hard on the top layer from being under a hot plate for too long. My salmon had gone cold by this time waiting for the entree to be served. Still a really good piece of salmon, even cold. • Our waitress was very nice and sweet but often forgot requests and took way too long to check in on our table despite passing it many times to serve others around. • For a small anniversary dinner that we had planned to spend maybe an hour top at... ended up being almost 2 hrs long with us leaving around 9pm. • Normally we have never had an issue with service or food but this time around definitely spoiled what was supposed to be a special night. • Not sure if it was short staff or our waitress was new but it was definitely a disappointment.
