  We had such a wonderful experience at East Side Mario’s in Cobourg tonight, thanks to our amazing server, Melissa! We were celebrating my dad’s birthday, and she went above and beyond to make it special by organizing the birthday song and cake, which meant so much to our family. Melissa was incredibly attentive from start to finish. She was so kind and patient with our group, especially with my kids, and made sure everyone had everything they needed throughout the entire meal. She checked in often without ever being intrusive, took a family photo for us, and even made sure we had all our takeout boxes and bags before we left. She was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel well taken care of. Great service like hers is hard to find, and she made our celebration even more memorable. We hope we’re lucky enough to have Melissa as our server again the next time we visit. Thank you, Melissa!

  I was super bummed tonight at our experience at East Sides, my family has always been a big fan and always leave happy. Tonight not so much, we were pleasantly seated right away in at a great table, but then after almost 20 minutes waiting I had to go ask the hostess if someone was going to come serve us… then were greater promptly by a lovely waitress who apologized and said she saw so many other waitresses walk by and no one served us so she came over… took our full order and then brought our drinks which were great I had a lemon drink off their summer menus which looked fantastic , she brought bread and then we waited nearly 35 mins for our food which were easy pasta dishes, I had pasta primavera which was lovely my 2 daughters got shrimp linguini (which was pretty much awful soup filled with tonesss of tomatoes) and spaghetti bolognese which was awful it tasted sour and burnt almost hard to explain she mustered through eating as much as she could but then said she can’t eat anymore it tastes awful and was full from her Cesar salad and bread so we all got our leftovers to go… got the bill and I explained to our waitress about how I was bummed and I was unfortunately unimpressed with the food and how we had to wait so love, this is nothing on our waitress she was lovely and tried to make things better and I appreciate her for that. She took my info and said she will share with the manager as she has also had a few other complaints, about the spaghetti specifically… when we left I observed 2 tables where there were folks who were getting ready to leave and they too had the same plate of food and I could see hardly any of it was eaten lots of left overs, with other plates and such piled ontop. The waitress shared she would check on that batch of sauce and pull it if needed. She Thanked me for me sharing my concerns and off we left. I am sharing my experience incase others happened to be there too , I hope this was a one off because I love east sides. Not sure I will go back to that location.

  Stopped here for a family meal out on our way home from a weekend away and it was very disappointing and we regret our decision. It had been a long time since we ate at East Side Mario's and it will be our very last. The pasta was terrible, I would not recommend anyone to eat at East Side Mario's if you want a decent & enjoyable meal.

  Update: ESM Customer service looked into it and we are pleased how they handled it. Thank you! Our family visited East Side Mario’s for dinner, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The evening started off well with friendly and welcoming staff. Our appetizers arrived within a reasonable time, and we had no complaints about the food. After that, however, we waited… and waited… and waited for our main courses. While we were waiting, a table seated next to us after we had already received our appetizers ordered both appetizers and entrees. They finished their entire meal, paid their bill, and left before our main dishes even arrived. When we asked about our order, the only response we received was that it would be “soon.” In the end, it took an hour and a half for our main courses to be served. We had a toddler with us, making the excessive wait even more frustrating. To make matters worse, only one of the main dishes was satisfactory; the others were disappointing. While the staff were friendly, the extremely long wait and the poor quality of most of the meals overshadowed the positive start to the evening. Sadly, this was not the dining experience we expected and not one we would want to repeat.
