Bought a new iPhone for my spouse who isn't technically literate. He needed help transferring wanted data from his old iPhone. Made an appt.at this store. Went in and "Genius" Dan said "We don't do that in Canada" and was told to go sit down and maybe someone would help. No other explanation given. In other words, they know how to help but refuse to and don't explain why. Was it because he is a senior? Not yt? A senior bought an Apple product and he was refused assistance. That feels like Discrimination.

Booked an appointment for 7pm to get my iPhone battery replaced. Showed up on time, only to be told it was "too late in the day" to do the replacement — despite having a confirmed appointment for that exact time. No explanation for why a 7pm slot was booked if 7pm was apparently unworkable. I was told not to bother rebooking — just come back the next day and I'd be "prioritized," with the whole thing taking about an hour. I planned my day around it and showed up as instructed. Instead, I was informed the earliest they could actually see me was five hours later that afternoon. So much for being prioritized. Two trips to the store, a wasted evening, and an entire day rearranged for a service that still hadn't happened. What made it worse was the attitude: the last staff member I dealt with was completely indifferent, like wasting a customer's time twice in a row was routine and unremarkable. No apology, no urgency, no acknowledgment that they'd given me bad information the first time and were now doing it again. I have been to this store many times and the service is usually solid. But two infuriating experiences in a row have made me not want to go back.

My boyfriend and I came in today around 2 pm because he was interested in buying a new iPhone. The gentleman who helped us was absolutely phenomenal. We weren’t able to catch his name but he was wearing a black baseball cap with the Apple fitness logo on the left side. I’ve always had great service here but this time was probably one of the most memorable.

The service at this location, specifically from the Genius Bar, has been steadily declining over recent years. It is now at the point where buying Apple Care feels genuinely pointless and the customer experience that used to define Apple, the experience that kept me coming back, has been shattered. This leads me to question if my next device(s) will be Apple branded. My iPhone failed today and is covered by AppleCare. I attempted to walk in for a replacement, fully expecting to wait - what I did not expect was to be told the next appointment was in a week, or to be presented the alternative of walking in at 10am tomorrow… as much as I’d love to, I have a job during the day. So here I am without a phone, in the age of 2FA. I’ve called 1-800-MyApple, I’ve eaten the 2k deposit, and now I still have to wait to function again. I appreciate we’re all busy, everyone is overworked, and the queue never empties - technical support can feel like a bucket that keeps overflowing. However, when people pay up front for an elevated service experience, both in the device price itself and AppleCare, the expectation needs to be managed and maintained. From the PowerPC days, through the intel days, to the M chips now. From the first iPhone to now. I’ve been loyal. Maybe this is when we realize we aren’t good for each other… It’s not me, it’s you(r service).

It really is a shame that I have to leave a review with this level of negativity, since in the past, the people working in this location have genuinely been great to deal with. The TLDR of the situation is, my husband’s iPhone broke, leading us to the Apple Store to get a replacement via Apple Care (which he had bought together with the purchase of the phone). We were told by one of the ‘greeters’ (not sure what they're called—the people who have the tablets and tell you which other employees are available?) that there were no walk-in availabilities until the following weekend at the earliest. We were then told that we could get the ‘Express Replacement’ by calling the 1-800-MyApple service number. It pains me to admit this, but we live in a digital age where a person can scarcely make it through a weekday without using their phone in some way. For a person who works in IT operations management and requires the use of rolling two factor codes, it’s frankly unacceptable for Apple to say; ‘you’ll get a replacement in 3-5 business days’. Cool. That is potentially an entire business week without access to technical necessities. For all intents and purposes then, Apple is expecting that for anyone who either can’t replace their device same day or who can’t take time off to walk in and wait, their bosses will grant them leniency because Apple is slow? No. This inconvenience is fully on the shoulders of the customers. I understand that weekends can be busy—I used to work in retail myself, I’m not unempathetic—but it *is* an issue when there are at LEAST four ‘greeters’ visible within my general eyeline, all standing there essentially waiting to tell walk-ins that there're no appointments available, while the two solo geniuses are busting their buns behind the counter trying to fill the backlog of appointments? That’s not a failure of work ethic, that's a spectacular failure of resource management from a company that once held and maintained the absolute zenith of customer experience. That’s what makes this whole thing feel like even more of a stab in the back from Apple. Especially since my husband was the one who transitioned me fully into the Apple ecosystem to the point that I had a bunch of unnecessary accessories as well. So it is a testament to the decline of quality when the person who lived and breathed Apple, is now the one swearing off of them forever, and you know what? I agree with him.
