  East Side Mario’s? Cancel the franchise agreements. Tear down the neon signage. As of tonight, the establishment is officially North End Kim’s, and I will personally battle (kind words only) anyone in the corporate office who says otherwise. Mario has been coasting on his laurels for decades; Kim (our waitress) is the true, undisputed monarch of casual dining. I ordered the tomato soup and the cheese cappelletti. What Kim delivered was a liquid baptism and a bowl of ricotta-filled miracles. When she set the soup down, it didn’t just steam, I think it fixed my lower back pain maybe and I felt more comfortable admitting that maybe the grudges I’ve been holding in my life just aren’t worth it. It’s not just endless bread when Kim is your server, it’s the beginning of peace, but also so much bread. I felt comfortable eating fast because I knew that if I started choking she would save me, FOR SURE, that’s just the vibe she gives. Could that weird singing delivery robot do that? No way… it doesn’t have any Heimlich delivering attachments…. Not yet at least. Is she there when you need her? Instantly. Is she hovering too often? Never. I know that makes it seem like maybe she is a service poltergeist who appears and disappears but she’s just the kindest and nicest waitress who offered me a refill of Diet Pepsi even though it was so close to bedtime. So would I go back? Yes. For two reasons, 1) it was a pleasant experience thanks to Kim specifically but also the cooks and 2) to make sure that they know that those weird singing delivery robots are no match for Kim’s kind, prompt service and they will never save my life. Ever. Thanks Kim!

  We had a wonderful experience here! Our server, Rory, was fantastic. He was kind and attentive, along with being very good with our kids. The portions were perfect, everything was hot and the quality was excellent. It was busy when we went and the speed of service was still fantastic. I would highly recommend this location!

  Kim was great today! She was very patient while my partner and I were trying to decide what to eat. She kept checking in on us to top up our drinks and bring us our bottomless salads! I would recommend coming in if you want a relaxed date night :)

  Great staff!!! Joe the GM 👏and Cassie our server 🙌 Fast service, good tasting 😋 plentiful food. We decided to sit on patio since weather was perfect. They have a beautiful patio area...it is a hidden gem! Great place to sit and have dinner or just chill with friends. If in the area again I would definitely return. Cassie was an amazing server and extremely attentive and helpful. Was on an auntie and niece day, and this finished off our day perfectly. Thanks so much Cassie and the staff who prepared our meals! And to note if you use Google maps it tells you wrong spot in mall. They are located on the total opposite side. Over by LCBO, Walmart. So if you come in at lights go left not right. 😉 I submitted change to Google hopefully they fix it.

  We have been to east sides several times and have always had good experiences. Today was a bit of an exception. I always order the chicken fettuccini Alfredo and it’s always amazing, it was edible tonight, but not enjoyable. My husband ordered the trio and he quite enjoyed his food! The starter salad, soup and bread was delicious as always. My main complaint is the service. We received a friendly greeting at the door. However, our waitress was less enthusiastic; which is fine, but we placed our drink order and it took about 10 minutes to get 2 drinks, with only about 12 tables full in the whole restaurant. My drink was rather watered down from sitting for a while, but I couldn’t ask for another as it was a bit before we saw our waitress again. Our food came out quickly after ordering, and I was offered a refill on my drink and soup and that was brought quicker, however we were never checked on after that/asked how our food was. Overall, it was okay, but defiantly a disappointing visit compared to other great experiences.
