This location is in the same parking lot as a Great Canadian Brewhouse (Pub) I parked on the side of the building after best guy's business hours, & went into the pub to meet colleagues. I chose the smart and safe route of Uber'ing home. When I returned to my vehicle that next morning before Best Buy opened, I found a $98 ticket from a company Best buy employs to regulate parking. I parked before they closed and left before they opened yet handed a bill of $98. Tried to pay it online, the lot number doesnt match up! Great experience. Ill definitely avoid parking at their business in the future.

Made the mistake of heading there at 10 am on Tuesday to pick up a preorder. I joined a lineup of only three people spent a good twenty-five minutes in line to then watch a person who just walked in wander to an unopened till who is then joined by an employee. Then someone comes from the back with an employee who starts ringing them up. Is there a reason it takes over a half hour to pick up an order. Is there a reason you cant have more than one till open. Maybe consider adding a sign recommending you find an employee and drag them to the front for service. Do not shop at best buy it is a complete waste of time and a true disappointment to shop there. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Seriously disappointed in the service, or shall I say lack of...I came in to look at a laptop and get a multi charging cord for android and iPhone. The guy at the front listened to what I was looking for, he sent me to the laptop department and said someone woukd help me there...I get there, no one around, then I find a girl doing stock and ask her for help. She's got tghe deer in the headlight look, and a guy comes over and sais he will help me. I tell h8m, he said, oh I dont think we have that in stock....I came from Whitecourt to specifically go check out best buy while Im in the city)...no, they dont have them, I ask about monitors to hook up to laptop, he says, oh yes we have them. He brings me to two orher employees who were standing there talking to pass me off to them...by this time I'm DONE...I dont think any of them know any more than U do...I said yeah, Im goid thanks and left the store. Won't be going there again and certainly not buying a laptop there either.

I went to Best Buy on 20304 109 Street downtown, hoping to have my PC repaired after it suddenly stopped working while I was completing a school assignment. Unfortunately, what I was told would be a quick repair turned into over a month of stress, poor communication, damage to my computer, and additional expenses. When I first brought my PC into the downtown Edmonton location, the Geek Squad associate I spoke with encouraged me to purchase the monthly Geek Squad membership, explaining that for approximately $20 it included diagnostics and unlimited repairs. I agreed and was told I would receive a phone call within about five business days once the issue had been diagnosed. After seven business days passed, I returned to the store in person because there is no direct way to contact the location. I was told the issue was still being diagnosed and to return in another two business days. When I returned, I was informed that the problem was with my motherboard. I ordered a new motherboard online and brought it back to the store about two weeks later. The associate opened the box, inspected the motherboard and told me the part looked perfect and that the repair would be completed in-store within three business days. Five business days later, I still had not received an update. I returned to the store again around 4:00 PM and explained that I was becoming frustrated with the lack of communication. Shortly after, the associate returned and told me they could not find my computer. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told the manager had “gone on lunch” and that I would need to return the next day. The following day, an associate informed me that PC repairs are not completed at the downtown location and are instead shipped to the west Edmonton store. This was the first time anyone had communicated this to me. The associate admitted that this should have been communicated and stated that my pc and $200 motherboard were likely somewhere on a transport truck. Had I been informed that my computer would be transported across the city, I would have driven it there myself to avoid the possibility of loss or damage. After several days of phone calls with customer service, my computer arrived at the West Edmonton store. When I saw it for the first time in over a month, I was shocked. My PC case was severely damaged during transport or handling, and my original motherboard was returned with broken prongs and damage that was not present before. The West Edmonton Geek Squad manager was professional and handled the situation appropriately. Unfortunately, I was informed that none of the Geek Squad locations in Edmonton could diagnose the issue with my PC and that it would need to be shipped out of province. Even after installing the new motherboard, the computer still would not turn on, and the team still did not know what was wrong internally. After back-and-forth, the manager offered to replace the damaged PC case and reimburse the cost of the new motherboard, which I appreciated. However, I am now forced to take my computer to Memory Express for proper diagnosis and repair. To make matters worse, after all of this, I attempted to cancel the monthly membership I had been encouraged to purchase. What was not clearly explained was that although it is advertised as a monthly payment, it requires a minimum 12-month commitment unless cancelled within the first 30 days. Since I was outside that window, I had to pay an additional $210 to cancel a service I no longer wanted or needed. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into over a month of poor communication, misinformation, lost time and physical damage to my pc. As a university student, I rely heavily on my computer for schoolwork, and this experience caused an incredible amount of unnecessary stress. I cannot recommend repair services at this location. At no point did anyone from the downtown location apologize or proactively follow up regarding the delays, confusion, or damage to my computer. Do not use the Geek Squad services here!
