I had a very disappointing experience with Geek Squad at Best Buy. I brought my PC in on Friday to have my GPU and PSU replaced and was expecting the work to be completed within the timeframe discussed.
However, I wasn't informed that they couldn't perform the service until I returned on Monday expecting my computer to be ready. A simple phone call or update would have saved me the trip and the wasted time. But you can't access any direct line to the store and more time wasted talking to call centers who can't access the store either.
The location appears to be understaffed, and communication throughout the process was poor. What made the experience even more frustrating was finding a local computer repair shop that completed the exact same service for $50, while Best Buy charges around $200 without a membership.
Based on my experience, I would recommend looking into local PC repair businesses before choosing Geek Squad.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Best Buy Airdrie today. I purchased a PS5 Pro, three games to go with it and a couple of other products all online and selected the Airdrie location for pickup. When I went into the store, the first question I was asked when they were grabbing my order was if I wanted to buy their protection plan which I had already added online. Then they wanted to cancel my online order and process in store so they could get credit in store for the sale. Once I declined, they gave me my product and sent me on my way. When I get home to set up the new console for my children, I discovered that the PS5 Pro doesn’t take discs without a disc drive accessory that is an additional $100. My children went from very excited to a bit disappointed upon learning they couldn’t play with their new gift since I didn’t grab this additional accessory. If the employee would have focused more on ensuring we had the correct products and complete solution instead of focusing on their service plan and cancelling the order and reprocessing in store so they would get credit, I wouldn’t have to make a second trip back to the store and delay my children’s experience with their new product. I picked up in store because I was hoping for and expecting to get a trusted advisor to ensure my questions were answered and that I had everything I needed. Very disappointed and I expect better from Best Buy.

I came in with a return from a different store, and they still took the refund happily and even waived the restocking fee, nice!
