It’s a great store with everything you could need to help you recover from a surgery or temporary mobility needs. (I’m sure they have even more) What made my trip even better was meeting Émilie Larocque. She really helped me a lot, is super nice and friendly and knows a heck of a lot of how everything they sell works and how it should be set up properly. She made my trip an absolute pleasure and was so very helpful - she was deeply invested in satisfying my needs. I’m sure the other nice people who work there are great too - I just had business with Émilie but they seemed very nice too. If you need equipment for an operation or other life changes go to ErgoSanté - it’s a great place and don’t be shy to ask for Émilie.

If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).

Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
