My wife and I left Quebec 18 years ago, and we can’t remember the last time we experienced service like this. The food was outstanding, the prices were excellent, and Tracy made sure we didn’t miss out on anything. The level of hospitality truly stood out. Keep up the great work! My partner and I both ordered a quarter chicken dinner, and as I was eating, I found a hair at the bottom of my mashed potatoes. I did receive a new plate when I got the server’s attention. With that said, when it was time to pay, I expressed my feelings that I should have some sort of discount on my meal as there was a hair. I didn’t feel it was right to pay full price. The server told me he didn’t have the authority to give a discount, so he got the manager to come speak to me. Long story short, the manager made me feel bad for even asking for a discount. She said my meal had to be thrown out. She offered me a free dessert, but my stomach was off from the hair I found in my potatoes, so I didn’t take that offer. I did mention I’d appreciate half off for my meal and she was quick to say no to that. I couldn’t believe it. She only took $5 off and I still tipped the server. I’ve been going to this location for years and never had any issues, but this evening’s experience really turned me off from returning. I don’t live in Moncton and St. Hubert is a restaurant I look forward to going to. Nobody should pay full price for poor quality, especially when there’s a hair in their food. Gross!
