I walked in at approx. 6:37pm, to the server just starting the first sub of a large group that was standing in building. My sub order was printed out behind him, indicating he got the order before those customers walked in.
There were 3 other large groups behind that group, I assumed my sub would be made after he finished the first. He finished the first group and went on to the next, ignoring my order behind him, then due in 7 minutes (6:50). I asked him to wave at me when done, as my child was in the car.
I went outside, watched as he finished the second group, then started mine. When I went in to retrieve them, he started explaining how they aren't typically done until the time on the receipt (6:50pm), it was then 6:55pm. I wasn't upset about the 5 minutes, I simply said "I can do the math, you had just started the group when I walked in", to acknowledge his time management could've been better. He continued to try to argue with me about when they should have been ready, so I simply said "I would just like my subs and to leave without argument". To which he replied "if you're gonna be like that, you can go like that then" in a tone as if I was no longer welcome back, for simply addressing a complaint. This was unprofessional and rude. There is no reason he needed to continue to argue with me after I told him I would just like to get my subs and leave, said it 3 times while he proceeded to argue over me.
This was then followed by me submitting a complaint online, followed with a response stating the exact same things he told me in store, noting the no tolerance policy and claiming I was being rude for simply stating I could tell his excuse was incorrect by addressing that I was able to tell when my order came in vs when the people came in.
If he didn’t like how I said my complaint, that’s fine, however I wasn’t rude and the employee should have dropped conversation when I said I just wanted to get my subs and go without further argument. We had both made our point, continuing it only further displayed his lack of professionalism.
