I am an Uber delivery driver. On Tuesday night, I went to this Subway location to pick up a customer order. One employee behaved very unprofessionally toward me. He threw the order on the counter and rudely told me to take it. His attitude toward delivery drivers was disrespectful, while he treated customers differently. When I asked for his name so I could report the incident, he refused to provide it and gave what appeared to be an incorrect name. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and creates a negative experience for delivery drivers who are working to serve customers. I hope management reviews this incident and provides better training to staff on how to treat delivery partners with respect.

We were ignored when trying to place our order. After waiting at the counter for over three minutes, I had to ask whether we could order or if the staff were busy with something else. The response was simply, "We're busy." There was no greeting, no acknowledgment of the wait, and no indication that someone would assist us shortly. Instead, the employees continued talking among themselves, seemingly in another language. When we were finally able to order, I wasn't asked which cheese I wanted on my sandwich. The employee put on a cheese I didn't request, and when I pointed it out, he simply added my preferred cheese on top rather than removing the first one. On a positive note, the sandwich itself was delicious. However, the customer service was disappointing and left a negative impression on what could have been an otherwise great experience.

They’re so nice. I placed a buy 1 get 1 pickup order via Ubereats but not sure how uber provided them info for just one sandwich. However, the staff was nice enough to call their supervisor to check and they made another sandwich for me :)

I phoned 311 and inquired whether I experienced a bylaw infraction at the Subway at 173 Church Street last night. I think there is an implied agreement, between a patron, and a restaurant, that when you order a meal, you should feel entitled to use the washroom, when you are finished. I also believe that, here in Toronto, bylaws require restaurants to provide a washroom for patrons. Last night I was looking to sit down, and have a meal. This was around 10pm, and the 24hr AW next to the restaurant had already blocked off its dining area and washrooms. So I went to the Subway restaurant. The employee was polite, while he took my order for a steak and bacon footlong. I sat down, and ate my meal. When I finished he informed me the dining area was closed. I gathered up my wrappings, stood up, and told him I was going to use the washroom. He told me the washroom was closed. I told him I was 69, and had recently had prostate surgery, and really needed to use the washroom. I asked him to open it back up for me, figuring he must have just closed it. He wouldn't bend. I told him I thought providing a washroom, to patrons, was a bylaw requirement He would not accomodate my needs. He repeated the washroom was closed. He suggested I use the washroom at A&W -- the same washroom I had noticed was blocked off by a barrier, when I chose the Subway restaurant. FWIW, the employee did not say, "We will be closing the washroom and dining area in ten minutes." I do not know whether the bylaw allows a restaurant to close the washroom simply because the restaurant closed their dining area. I will be making further inquiries about this. I don't think this was the employee's fault I suspect he was improperly trained, and this bylaw infraction was due to a failure of management. I suspect management didn't train him properly I understand how allowing people to use your washrooms, 24x7, can be a problem, when some of them are homeless drug addicts. But I am neither homeless,or a drug addict. If the bylaw requires you to let patrons use your washroom I think you have to find a way to do so, even if that risks homeless drug addicts making a mess. I am going to conclude this with an explanation as to what being denied the use of a washroom means to someone who has had prostate surgery. Men require prostate surgery, when they are older. It is not due to bad habits. One of the consequences of prostate surgery is that you have to plan ahead, to make sure you can void your bladder regularly. Ootherwise you can lose control, and feel humiliated by walking home with a large wet spot showing everyone you lost control of your bladder. I am going to repeat. This is humiliating. I am extremely angry your employee put me at risk of walking home with my pants stained because I lost control of my bladder. I am going to repeat, your employee gave me no warning he was going to deny me the use of your washroom when I placed my order. If he had I would have cancelled my order and gone to a restaurant that complied with the bylaw. I am going to send a copy of this letter to Subway HQ

We went to this Subway expecting normal service. At first, the staff seemed nice and welcoming, but towards the end the experience changed completely. When we asked for toppings like spinach and extra onions, they literally added only 2–3 leaves/pieces, which was honestly disappointing. What made it worse was that we could clearly see them making sandwiches for other customers with proper amounts of toppings and much better service. It made us feel singled out and uncomfortable, and honestly felt discriminatory/racist towards us. Because of this experience, I would not recommend this Subway location to others.
