On June 4, 2026, I placed an online order at the Subway location on 5 Shields Court, Markham, ON. I ordered the "Meal of the Day" special for $7.99, which includes a 6" sandwich, a drink, and chips or a cookie. The online ordering system clearly allowed me to select an energy drink for an additional $1.50, so I ordered a sandwich, an energy drink (+$1.50), and chips. The subtotal was $9.49, and the total with tax came to $10.72.
When I arrived to pick up my order, a staff member told me, "Don't order an energy drink next time." When I asked why, I was told that energy drinks are not included in the offer.
My question is: if energy drinks are not eligible for the promotion, why does the online ordering system allow customers to select one for an additional charge and successfully complete the order? This seems like either a system issue or a lack of familiarity with the promotion at this location.
I had no problem paying the extra $1.50, as shown in the online order. I simply expect the promotion to be honored as presented in the ordering system and for staff to provide clear and consistent information.
I went in on May 3 to purchase a Meal Deal for $7.99 and I paid $9.71 after taxes. I grabbed a 6" sandwich, 2 cookies, and a bottled drink (they didn't have a fountain drink machine). Today I went back on May 15th for the same deal. This time an older gentlemen cashed me out. I requested to switch from 2 cookies to just a bag of chips. He charged me $7.99 for the deal + an extra $1.50 for the bag of chips. I thought switching doesn't cost more? If so, he should of mentioned outright. Anyway, I went back to ask about it and the lady at the counter said: "It's because we don't have a fountain machine, so we charged you for the bottled drink". This was obviously a lie because the last time I went, she didn't charge me extra for it. Anyway, I won't be back. Very dishonest business practice just to make a few little dollars more. Not worth it!
SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN. I came this morning the owner was sitting at a table when I first started ordering, he then came around the counter and micromanaged the staff memeber. I’ve never been to a subway where I’m given 4 pieces of every vegetable 4 cucumbers, 4 pieces of onion that is absurd. I used to love subway because your sub would fill you now I’m eating 90% stale bread and 10% veggies. The lettuce was turning brown the tomatoes were almost translucent and soggg, this is unacceptable. The owner should be fired and this location should be shut down. Bloody health hazard
I’ve been coming here for quite a while, and lately the place just feels different in a good way. It’s noticeably cleaner, the sandwiches seem better made, and the staff—especially a couple of them—are always welcoming. Definitely a spot I keep going back to.

Shittiest subway i have seen they wear one gloves and do all meat , veg order. They dont look at instructions. I am missing crispy onions and peri peri in my order. They don't carry fod bags thats redicouls 🙄🙄
