I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this Circle K on Saturday around 5:00 PM. This location also has a Subway inside, and I asked the girl working at the Subway counter if I could use the washroom because it was an emergency.
She immediately said no with a very straight face and rude tone, saying that she had just cleaned the washroom. I explained that it was an emergency and that I really needed to go, but she kept saying no because the floor was wet. I told her I understood and that I would be very careful, but she still did not seem willing to help.
What made the situation worse was the way she spoke to me and her body language. She made me feel like I was bothering her or not being taken seriously, even though I clearly said it was an emergency. When someone says they urgently need the washroom, it should be handled with basic understanding and respect, not attitude or embarrassment.
She then asked if I could wait 5 to 10 minutes, which honestly shocked me because I had already explained that I could barely hold it. After that, she asked me to wait at least one minute, so I tried to cooperate and waited. However, she continued helping another customer while I was standing there waiting, even though I had already explained the situation.
When she finally opened the washroom door, she said rudely that if I fell or if anything happened inside, it would not be her responsibility. I told her I understood, thanked her, and used the washroom.
I understand that staff may have safety concerns if the floor was wet, but this situation was handled very poorly. I felt embarrassed, dismissed, and extremely uncomfortable. There was no professionalism or customer service in the way I was treated. A customer should not have to feel humiliated for asking to use the washroom during an emergency. I hope management takes this seriously and trains staff to handle these situations with more kindness, respect, and common sense.
