  Subway Catering Review I’ve been coming to this Subway location for about 25 years, with varied experiences but overall the staff here are great. I ordered four sandwich platters for a birthday party this weekend. My disappointment is with the price and value of Subway catering, not with Harry, the owner/manager, or this location. The catering prices are set by Subway, not by this location. Harry accepted my catering order with less than 24 hours’ notice, even though they normally require more time. Everything was ready for pickup. He even gave my seven-year-old grandson some birthday cookies and made him feel extra special. Each platter had 15 sandwich pieces, equal to five footlong subs. The sandwiches were basic: regular bread, standard meats, one slice of cheese and simple toppings. Sauces and pickles were on the side. The total was $252.00! That’s $63 per platter, or $12.60 for each footlong. For comparison, I’ve ordered several basic footlongs at once from Subway many times. I have them made individually with a choice of breads, toppings and sauces, and cut into thirds. Comparable basic subs are around $7.50 each with tax. At that price, 20 footlongs would be about $150. Again, the catering platters were $252. That’s about $102, or 68% more, for more basic sandwiches. I know catering and packaging cost extra, but I never expected the difference to be anywhere near that much. I actually gasped when Harry told me the total. I wish I had been told the total when I ordered rather than when I went to pay. But I didn’t ask, so that part is also on me. By then, it was too late to cancel and choose something else. We also ordered far too much. We had around 30 guests, a mix of adults and children. Two platters with some snacks and the birthday cake would likely have been plenty. This location and its staff usually get five stars from me. Subway catering gets one. Hence, three stars for this review. This location will continue to be my preferred Subway, but I would never use Subway catering again at these prices. I strongly suggest comparing other catering options first. And ask for the total before you order. That rookie move cost me about $100. 😬
