  I came in on a weekday right after work because I was headed to a concert. I wasn’t looking to buy anything, just needed a little something to mattify my makeup as it had been on since the morning. Jessica went above and beyond and touched up my whole face. She did such a great job that I purchased some product that she used. Not only was she knowledgeable and friendly, she had me looking great! Thanks again Jessica, you are truly amazing!!

  Shout out to Maria for her excellent service today and every day at the MAC in Yorkdale! Shopping for makeup when she is not in store can be challenging, I’m alway successful when Maria is there to help and I’m so glad she was! She is so calm and patient and also very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you to Maria and the whole MAC team!

  Visiting Canada from Hong Kong and had a wonderful experience! As a Black woman living in Asia, it’s hard to get certain skin tone make up and advice. I decided to pop in the Yorkdale Mac store just to see what they had (I don’t shop at MAC). Leanne greeted me and listened to my concerns and found me the perfect product to replace a brand that I couldn’t find in Canada. The time she took to explain how to use it and the confidence boost she gave me, made me decide to buy several additional items. That’s a good sales person!! I even bought brushes!!! I wish all stores had good sales people like this. It makes all the difference.

  I had a very disappointing experience at the MAC Cosmetics store in Yorkdale. I visited with my friends during the recent promotion and came to purchase specific products, including a setting spray and lipsticks. We spent time trying shades and discussing our options, which is a normal part of shopping for makeup. We had already selected and purchased some items and were planning to buy additional lipsticks once my friend finalized her shade. While we were confirming whether we had picked the correct lipstick shade, one of the sales associates suddenly spoke to us in a loud and rude manner, implying that we were only trying products and not intending to buy anything. The way she addressed us was embarrassing and completely unprofessional. Another employee later explained that the store was busy and staff were under pressure. While I understand that retail can be stressful, that is not an excuse to yell at customers or make them feel unwelcome. I've shopped at MAC locations before, including Eaton Centre, where the staff have always been helpful and respectful. Unfortunately, this experience was the opposite. Because of how we were treated, I decided not to complete the additional purchases I had planned to make. I hope management addresses this issue and reminds staff that customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect.
