🚨 RACISM, DISRESPECT & REFUSAL TO SERVE A PAYING CUSTOMER — TA RAWLINS SUBWAY — SEPTEMBER 12, 2026, 7:35 A.M. 🚨
Absolutely unacceptable treatment at the Subway inside TA Rawlins.
I stopped here at approximately 7:35 a.m. on September 12, 2026, after driving all night. I was exhausted and extremely hungry and stopped specifically to get some breakfast before getting back on the road.
I ordered a sandwich and explained exactly how I wanted it prepared. When it came time for the sauce, I asked for the sauce to be added after the other ingredients. The employee told me that Subway policy required the sauce to be put on first. I explained that I wanted it later because I am the customer, I am paying for the food, and I should be able to decide how I want my sandwich prepared.
Instead of simply making the sandwich, the employee refused to serve me, threw the food in the trash, and told me, “Have a good day.”
Seriously?
I have eaten at Subway locations all over the country, and I have never experienced something this ridiculous. If there really is a Subway policy that says sauce MUST be put on first, management needs to explain that policy because refusing to serve a paying customer over something this insignificant is completely unacceptable.
Then other employees became involved, and instead of trying to resolve the situation, I felt like I was being treated as though I was the problem. I was told I had to wait 30–40 minutes for a manager rather than simply having someone make my food and take my payment.
What made this experience even more disturbing is that I was the only Black customer/person in the Subway at the time, and the way I was treated made me seriously question whether race played a role in the refusal to serve me. I cannot know what was in the employee’s mind, but after the way I was treated, that is honestly how it felt.
I was a tired, hungry truck driver who had been driving all night and stopped at TA expecting nothing more than a basic breakfast and basic human respect. Instead, I left hungry, frustrated, humiliated, and extremely disappointed.
Truck drivers work long hours transporting the goods that keep this country moving. We deserve respect too.
TA Rawlins and Subway management need to investigate exactly what happened at approximately 7:35 a.m. on September 12, 2026, review the surveillance footage if available, speak with the employees involved, and address this situation.
No paying customer should be refused service and have their food thrown in the trash simply because they requested their sandwich to be prepared differently.
This was one of the worst customer-service experiences I have ever had, and I sincerely hope management takes it seriously.
