I’ve honestly never felt so uncomfortable at a Subway before, and after what happened with me and my husband, I felt it was time to leave a review.
This particular location is awful.
The manager (or at least the person I assume is the manager) has always had a rude attitude. I’m not expecting anyone to be overly cheerful, but it would be nice not to feel unwelcome the moment you walk in. I understand work is stressful and dealing with people all day can be exhausting, but customers still deserve basic respect instead of being treated like they’re inconveniencing you.
What finally pushed me to write this review, though, was a newer employee they hired. I don’t know what his issue was that day, but he was incredibly rude from the start.
I had placed an order through the app and realized I forgot to include an instruction, so I went in early and politely said, “Sorry to bother you, but I ordered a sandwich on the app and forgot to mention that I wanted some veggies toasted with it.”
His response was immediately: “Well, it’s not in the instructions here.”
At that point, the sandwich hadn’t even been made yet, so I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable or for them to remake food. Thankfully, he eventually added the veggies after I explained.
I also had left a note asking for the sandwich to be double toasted because I usually like it extra toasted. When I mentioned that, he again responded with attitude and said, “It’s not on the receipt.” At that point I was getting irritated, so I asked, “Did you check the top where it says instructions?” He huffed and then did it.
While waiting for our food, me and my husband were simply standing there watching him make the sandwiches like customers normally do at any Subway. Out of nowhere, he yelled at us:
“Can you go sit down or something? I hate it when people watch me!”
We were both shocked and confused. My husband went to sit down, but I stayed near the counter because we still hadn’t received our food, and one sandwich was still being toasted. I had also ordered another sandwich separately in person.
Safe to say, we will not be coming back to this Subway again.
