I went to the FedEx location on South 161st Street in Seattle to drop off a children’s scooter with a small lithium battery. This was after the FedEx in Tukwila directed me here, saying they could handle it—even with the battery sign. When I arrived, the staff member was friendly, but she wasn’t fully trained on how to process packages with batteries. She told me I needed to call a different number first and get approval before dropping it off. After some back-and-forth, I was able to send it, but the whole process felt unnecessarily complicated.
In the end, I was able to drop it off, but the lack of clear training made the experience more stressful than it needed to be. The location is convenient, and the staff is nice, but because of the hassle, I’m giving them 3 stars. If you go here, just be sure to call ahead if you have anything similar.
