DO NOT GO. HEALTHCODE VIOLATIONS. WORKER DRUNK ON THE JOB, AND I AM TALKING HAMMERED. I mobile ordered and when I got there the worker was not in the front at all. Me and my friend waited 10 minutes for the worker to come to the front and instead of saying Hello, sorry, or anything of the sort, he asked “why are you here?” We proceeded to tell him we mobile ordered and said “oh okay I’ll make your subs now.” He started one sub and then kept disappearing to the back for minutes at a time. He seemed really out of it, slurring and repeating himself. He was definitely either drunk at minimum. There was a guy who came in after me and my friend who also mobile ordered and the worker started and finished his order in 10 minutes. After 30 mins, he called me up before my order was done and I watched him wrap up my stuff horribly and fist the cookie I got so it was in crumbled bits by the time it was in the bag, and at that point we were waiting for my friends order. After an hour passed we finally asked for a refund for my friend, he would not stop repeating our names in an odd chanting way. He was not able to discern anyone, almost like me, my two friends, and the other woman who was also there, were one person. He went to count bread or something in the middle of our interaction at this point and as he did so he pulled out a tray and coughed on the bread, mind you his face was an inch away from the tray. At this point I did ask for a refund as well because I did not feel comfortable at all receiving the food I did because who knows what could’ve happened before if that was the in the moment. My mom is immunocompromised, I can’t chance getting sick. With me asking for a refund though he got extra confused, but then began pleading me to not ask for a refund in the worst way possible. He put supposedly the store owner on the speaker phone at one point, and I say supposedly because he kept calling him dad; And I tried explaining it to him including the fact he did not wash his hands once, he said openly he was taking out the trash, and he was supposedly sick. He had his hands in his shirt on his phone, and in the trash too. That is a health code violation. Not to mention straight up gross. In response to me explaining it, the owner told me, and mind you the worker had the phone on low volume so I could not hear completely but these things I am about to share I heard clearly. He told me something about a drug and alcohol test, and then tried to cover for the worker saying that they don’t have to wash their hands every time which is not fine because I also work in food service and I know for a fact at minimum you have to wash your hands before beginning another task and he “doesn’t understand what the issue was.” By this point I had enough we were there for over an hour, I was late taking my medication, which I needed the food for. I did take the food, if anything for evidence because there is no way I am eating that food, I just needed to have something, anything to prove that all that actually happened. The worker did try taking the food but I genuinely just needed the proof because genuinely what the heck? I will be contacting corporate about this horrendous display of customer service. Genuinely I do hope that the person there does get the help he needs but that was just the most horrible customer experience I have ever had and it solidified why I will never be buying from subway ever again. Attached are photos of how I received my order, marked out my name for safety reasons.

***Update: The money was refunded to my account. Ultimately, the one employee should be better equipped to answer questions and deal with issues. She clearly didn’t have the authority or the information to assist me or explain to me the issue. That’s on management and ownership. Poor leadership places employees in no win situations, and that’s not taking care of your people.
The food has been good the two times I have come in. The place is clean as well. They only have one person working, which makes things very slow if there is more than one customer or a lot of online orders. The fountain machine doesn’t work as well.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure I will come back because I placed an online order for pickup and they wouldn’t make it for me. They said it wasn’t in their system so they couldn’t make it, even though it was in the app, showed the charge on my account and their location as the order location. When asked who I should talk to if I get double charged, the lady said ‘someone else. The problem isn’t on our end.’
Needless to say, I didn’t get my sandwich or my money back and there was no one there willing to even have a conversation about it to work it out. Unfortunate since it is the closest Subway to my work.
