Today I brought my minor daughter to this FedEx Office because it was her first time learning how to ship a package. She spent quite a while trying to print the FedEx shipping label at home, so I wanted to show her the correct shipping process.
When we arrived, we handed the package and the prepaid shipping label with the barcode to the employee. He taped the label onto the package. I then politely asked a very simple question: If a customer cannot print the shipping label at home, can they simply show the barcode on their cellphone, and will FedEx Office print the shipping label for them?
Instead of answering the question, the employee said he didn’t know what a “cellphone” was. I showed him my iPhone, and then he said he didn’t know what a “barcode” was—even though he was holding the shipping label with the barcode in his hand. Rather than trying to answer, he repeatedly tried to rush us to pay and end the conversation.
I wasn’t asking for any special service. I was simply trying to understand the FedEx shipping process and teach my daughter how it works. As a FedEx Office employee, I expected basic knowledge of shipping labels and professional customer service. Instead, I felt dismissed and brushed off.
This was a very disappointing experience. I hope management provides better customer service training so first-time customers receive the guidance and respect they deserve. Unfortunately, based on today’s experience, I cannot recommend this location.
