I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the behavior of an employee at this Cricket location. My father entered the store with my minor siblings seeking in-person support after phone customer service failed to help. My sister was translating for him.
Instead of offering assistance, the employee immediately became verbally aggressive and insulting, accusing my father of being incompetent and impatient. The situation escalated when the employee threatened to call ICE and told my father to “go back to his country.” This was not only racist and humiliating, but completely unacceptable—especially toward a family seeking help, with children present.
For the record, Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. Beyond that, no one deserves to be treated this way. My great-grandfather fought in the Vietnam War, and my brother—son of the man who was insulted—is currently serving this country. The level of disrespect and ignorance displayed by this employee is appalling.
Cricket should be ashamed to employ someone who behaves in such a volatile and discriminatory manner. I hope this is taken seriously, investigated, and addressed immediately. No customer should ever experience racism, threats, or harassment while simply asking for help.
